And stories are often printed calling opposition coaches a "loser" and Thommo gobbing off to perfectly legitimate statements by Neilson?.
And I thought Sheffield were unprofessional.

The games are always built up against the panthers - not just against us but against the steelers as well - it is part of hockey!! When someone from an organization comes out if stuff like this. "I think we'll do our talking on the ice," said Thompson. "I think our trophy cabinet shows that. The Panthers have their heads in the clouds so much - I hope they see our championship banners on their way down back to earth." They're asking for it.

Well done the panthers. You beat us. Tonight. But I'll tell you to stop with the predictions of vandalism and violence right now. I am the land lady of a well know hockey related bar not far from the dome, a long standing Blaze fan, as well as a mother who brings her small children to the game every week and in my experiance I have never had any trouble from hockey fans no matter what they're flavour! You are branding the Blaze fans with out any evidence and lowering the tone. Pack it in and have some dignaty in your victory. Currently most of the Blaze fans are downstairs in my bar, so how they're meant to be out vandalising cars or kicking off I don't know!!! These are the sorts of comments that get you guys a bad name, I'll give you some advice. Grow up and just enjoy the sport.

People wonder about violence and vandalism because it has happened before at Coventry. Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it hasn't.

Absolutely it does happen where people get too well fuelled and don't know how to behave in the first instance. No city is immune, I'm afraid its there every night of the week in various degrees. There is no real kick off at hockey especially, true some people get a little 'mouthy' and people get frustrated and sometimes a little over the top. Last nights was a great game, Nottingham won the game true......a better team? In my humble opinion not really I thought we dominated in the main, although there were a couple of lack lustre performances, but then everyone has an off day now and again. Thought the Panther NM played very well covering the angles etc although I still feel he is a little slow on the glove side. Coventry are there to be knocked down as we do have a great team a good set up and of course the best coach in the league, but Nottingham fans need to chill a little, enjoy the win, win with grace and wait for the next thrilling instalment. Don't like to mention the violence bit as per the previous note but I have to I'm afraid, I am at every home game, often at away games and I for one have never witnessed any kind of violence other than a bit of friendly banter. Oh yeah and Mark if you have seen it what did you do to stop it.......its our sport if we walk away from bad behaviour we condone the few who want to turn it into something else. Apart from that Merry Christmas to everyone regardless of the colour of the shirt you support, lets hope for an exciting 09 part of the season, and yes it is nice to see other teams 'really' compete with Coventry after all we are the best team in the league.....(laughs out loud)

Nice to see Danny Stewart got knocked to his knees twice by Sir Mr Bruce Richardson. How humiliating for him. Anyway nice to see people eat their words. Especially the simple fella(Blaze 08) who posts dribble on the cage forum. Good luck for 09.

Did Panthers win the league or something? No, didn't think so. You won one game, get over it already. Panthers beat us, well done. Blaze didn't play as well as they can, FWIW I don't think Panthers were that great either but they took their chances well and deserved the win.
We welcome fans of any team on this forum. Friendly banter is good, and it's nice to get different views of the same game from the oppositions fans. We don't particularly like fans of other teams signing up just to gloat and rub Blaze fans noses in it. Have you ever heard the phrase "bad winners"? We (the fans) didn't make the comments in the paper, Thommo and the players did, and I'm sure I'm not the only person who was worried those comments could come back to haunt us.
