i heard a rumour a while ago that simonton was re-tiring but chose not to believe it!! but it seems to have re-surfaced on the elite league fourm with someone commenting 'it was a story in a paper'??
dont players usually announce retirement during the season??(which is contradicting myself as i posted that i heard M.Barrrymoore was re-tiring)

Barrie Moore will be back with the Blaze next year. He is not going to retire as previously suggested. I guess you're stuck with, I think he was referred to as a on-trick pony in "should they stay or go", for one more season. I don't know why some are so down on him as he is well respected by coaches and players where ever he has played. On the ice, in the locker room or off the ice he is a valuable asset to the Blaze. Hopefully he will help bring another Championship to Coventry next year!

Roger Maxwell is tough as hell, have seen some fights and he seems to lack balance. He is big, tough and packs a punch though.
The AHL'er would be to replace Simonton and Simonton was on good wages, so I doubt this AHL'er would cause any concerns to the likeliness of Neal Martin returning.

true davey the one thats doing the rounds now is a 2 player swap deal with belfast: Carlon for Jamieson Huppe for Calder both like for like, and it would be a tough decision to pick, huppe is similar to adam, a great goalscorer, but it is then seeing how he works with carlson (if thats how it will work), losing the calder/carlson connection is like losing another half of a player, and thats why i tihnk they have stuck jamieson in with it as an incentive, no doubt in my opinion who is the better brit, but in 5 years time i would 'expect' Carlon to be the better, tough call if that is rumour is sunbstantial. could see this one happening though... ---- and also, they were more or less expected but super tom and peasey are back, they have updated the roster on the blaze site, going to put this one out again as it seems to be more and more likely: Weaver to Blaze...

VOTH SIGNED ANOTHER YEAR AT DEVILS I know. Such a shame. Legendary status awaits him in a Blaze shirt

I'd have liked to see Voth in a Blaze jersey, but he loves life in Cardiff by all accounts.
Weaver would be nice, if N. Martin isn't returning then Weaver would be a great replacement.
Jamieson can play as a forward, but I thought he was just there as cover, but is usually a defenseman. I hope this all doesn't go ahead. It is probably just rumours and specualtion, but I'd take Calder over Huppe for sure.
Doug Sheppard to be Steeler's 2nd line centre, replacing S. Maltby.

thing is fellers huppe and jamieson, calds and carlon all are free agents and unlike in the show we have no rights on them so they can go where ever. and im thinking maxwells going to be a bit of a cornish. fights but no lights! (he doesnt score)

Weaver to Panthers is hot right now! i guess Weavs is piping here at blaze as for others, calder is meant to re-sign, thommo has meant to have signed a GB player (Cowley my bet, or maybe Myers) apparently now has signed 2 big names from last year (for me i think one of them will be Ndur, kind of hope not, we could do better, but won't mind and hopefully either Nas or Neal) we are expected to re-sign Calder, so i think that puts us out the door for someone like smith, wage cap must have took a dent already with the imports we have, and weaver must be on something fairly lucrative for him to say hello to a 3 year deal, i'm looking forward to a good couple of weeks oh, and also: Robin Big Snake to the Elite: my bet, Newcastle
