I spoke to one of the officials as pavol was being put into the ambulance, from what he says Pav is likley to need surgery on his shoulder. I hope that he gets well soon, and makes full recovery!
The behaviour of some of both Blaze and Steeler fans left a lot to be desired. I was sat in block 10, next to the away fans, this is somewhere I will never sit again during a steelers match - as I was sworn when leaving my seat. I go to watch the ice hockey and support my team, not to be abused.
I am not going to comment on what happened to Pavol, as I was about as far away as I could be when the incident took place, and therefore did not see it clearly. But I am extreamly disappointed that Christian didn't even get a penalty

The 'hit', if you can call it that, was definitely dirty-if Christian was dodging a check, could someone please explain how he managed to make contact with Mihalik from behind and yank his shoulder sideways with his stick before shoving him hard into the boards? I can confirm this PW, as when Pavol was checked into the plexi I was the other side of it FACE TO FACE with him. Hooking, check from behind resulting in injury, everything. Should have been a match call.

Taken from the Elite web site.......
Christian Faces Disciplinary Enquiry Coventry Blaze have this morning requested Supplementary Discipline be taken against Jeff Christian following an incident in last nights nights game.
I will wait with baited breath.....after all, it is the steelers we are talking about.

I think what he meant was Christian was hooking Pavol as they chased the puck, and then as they got to the boards checked him from behind

Personally think his wages should go to Pavol until he is ready to play again, either that or public flogging in a packed city centre

I did not see the incident so shall not comment but we all know what Christian is like and for thommo to call him the dirtiest player in the league also gives you a few pointers. For us to send a video of the incident means it must be pretty bad so we shall see what transpires. As for all this calling of peron ( Cardiff incident aside)i don't get it i think he is the best forward in the league.

Let's all hope Pavs operation went well and he'll be back in a Blaze shirt sooner than expected.

For Pavol's sake I hope he isn't. give him the rest of the season to get his shoulder back to proper match fitness - instead of throwing him straight back in for the playoffs.. It's gonna do him no good at all.

It's gonna do him no good at all. I thought i'd get a reply like that. What i meant was, let's hope he gets better sooner than expected. Obviously everyone wants him to be at 100% when he's back. So let's just hope he get's the all clear from the doctor earlier, so he can play more hockey this season (as i'm sure he'll be dying to get back on the ice)

Just been on the steelers forum and it does get the blood boiling that the general consensus in Hovisland is that Pavols situation was all his own doing, either a clean hit or christian got out of the way as Pavol hit the boards. Nice to see they have two completely different but perfectly good views on what went on. Laughably they seem to call Coventry Chav Central too. Dear dear lack of imagination
