Great post PW.
I was thinking earlia and I'v thought up a challenge for anybody who wants to participate. There are no winners or losers in this challenge its just about opinions. Anybody who has ever disagreed with a moderator's decision whether it be a big or small disagreement heres your chance to get your point across, also moderators should join in too to get their points across.
Heres the challenge:
Pretend that you have been given the job of advertising for a new moderator and come up with an advert for anybody who wishes to apply for the position. It should include the moderator's responsabilities, what skills are required to be a moderator and also the benefits (if any) of being a moderator.
It will be very interesting to see what people come up with here and to see the differences in different people's adverts.

Benefits = Power ;D However one of the closing lines in the first Spiderman film is "With great power comes great resonsibilty" Now that is not to say that all mods have to be of a high intellectual standard although with greater intelligence is the ability to see all sides of a debate. A good mod should also not tempted to censor peoples opinions even if they contrast sharply with that of the mod in question. Therefore the mod motto should be "Equity must prevail"

New Mod Needed! Could you be the new Moderator on The Dragon's Den? To be eligible for this you need to have the following qualities/abilities: - Be reasonably competent at English and mathematics.
- Be open minded
- Able to let contrasting opinions and ideas stand, and reply to them in reasonable manner
- Be able to remain unbiased and mature at all times
The benefits of being a mod are an increase in 'power' but also an increase in responsibility. If you think you can cope with this the please pm ****** with your name and why you think you are suitable for the role.

My version...no flashy text...
To become one of the gatekeepers of the Dragon's Den, you need to...
Have a reasonable grasp of English Have some spare time Be able to see both sides of arguments (no selective editing) Be completely independent from the Blaze organisation (this includes not being influenced by them, either explicitly or not, in your actions) Enjoy free speech Able to take the rough with the smooth and have a passion for allowing debate to flow Be calm and able to take criticism
There's more, but that should do for now...

NEW MODERATOR WANTED
Job Description:
To act as an insurance policy in the rare event of somebody posting anything unsuitable. This includes swearing, personal attacks on other members and slanderous comments. The successful applicant will also be required to be prepared to listen but not neccasarly be influenced by forum members on issues regarding the forum.
Attributes Required:
- Must be on forum regularly so that the rare case of a post breaking any of the above rules gets noticed (please note that you will be working with four other moderators so you won't be expected to notice every rule breaking post) - Must be able to understand English and spell at basic level minimum - Must be capable of deciding whether or not to take action on any post based on fact rather than personal emotion or opinion
Skills Useful But Not Required:
- Being capable of thinking of and putting forward new ideas that you believe could make the forum better.
Benfits:
Working on behalf of a number of people including supporters of Coventry Blaze and other ice hockey clubs in allowing them to get their points across. Potentially being quietly respected for the work that you do.

I feel that sometimes members of this forum are not being able to voice their opinions because of ONE mod not all. Occasionally the "sometimes" can slip into "all the time" territory too, and several victims have already been had... This thread is getting stupid though. It's only an internet forum, not a way of life.

The question was asked at the begining, and folk answered that question. Please tell me what the problem is with that! Exactly, this is one of the better recent threads where a question was asked and a good debate and counter questions have emerged from it. It isn't compulsory to post on every single thread (Even if it looks like I do ), but sometimes there is no reason for negativity if unwarranted
