www.rds.ca/semipro/chroniques/168165.htmlSome of this translated (took off Steve off THF...) The Thetford Mines Prolab and the St-Hyacinthe Cousin completed a trade involving no less than 7 players at the end the day Monday. François Pagé, the key player in the trade, Pierre Sévigny, Justin Lucyshyn, Dany Leblond and Michael Stacey were sent to the Cousin in exchange for forwards Samuel Gagnon and André Payette. Samuel Gagnon will likely report to Thetford for their match Tuesday night against Québec Radio X in Thetford Mines, while André Payette is currently playing in England with the Coventry Blaze. The GM of Thetford Mines Prolab, Denis Desbiens, said he is very happy with the transaction, where he had to give up a player that he liked very much to obtain Gagnon and Payette. "We still improved the team" At 28 years old, André Payette is an impact player who was covetted by 4 organizations including the Prolab. "He is an excellent player who can play a robust game. He's currently in England, but I have spoke to him. The chances of him playing here this year are about 25 percent. He is surprised. If he not (André playing in Thetford) this year, it will be next year."

No surprise. He came over here for a bit of a change but he can make serious money in the old QSPHL as they teams are bankrolled by millionaires who love seeing old school hockey and Andre is pretty much built for it ...... will drop the gloves at any time but can put the puck in the net.

No way! Is that confirmed, or is there a chance he might stay with the Blaze? We can't lose our legend people!

Part of the article suggests there's a chance he might not see out the season in Blazeville

I think he'll honour his contract and stay here for the remainder of the season then be off to play in the 'Q' next season. 'The Q', is complete old skool hockey, with an average of like 3 fights a game. Lot's of NHL tough guys have gone their such as Donald Brashear. When he does go back, he'll join back up with Eric Lavigne (ex thunder, one of kurt's enemies!)

After speaking with Andre last night, he assured me he will be playing out the end of the season. As for next season, he basically said "it comes down to money" so whoever pays him the most, i guess he'll go with. P.S I did tell him how much the Blaze fans love him AND told him his new song..read the 'songs and chants' thread, he just laughed and said "Did you make that up" i said it's a well known song and we've decided to sing it for you, starting this Sunday, he was cool with it

I hope that he doesn't go, on the ice he is good to watch, and off the ice he is a nice guy.
My friends son Jack caught him coming out of the rink, and he took time to talk to him and sign his shirt, which was really sweet. Jack iss only 9 and he treasures that shirt.
What is the likely hood of him remaining with the Blaze?

there isn't the support for hockey in this country to outbid a North American team.
We'll lose him at the end iof the year, it's good of him to be staying this season.
A real quality player that is made for that league!
