I just thought id share with everyone on here that I called in to a pub last night. Its called The Wheel if any1 has heard of it and it is in or near Bell Green. Anyway when I was in this pub I has a glass of Carling and it was the best drink I have ever had. I don't know whether it was that I was ready for drink or whether they put a secret ingrediant in it that other pubs don't but I thought I should share with everybody how much I enjoyed the pint I had.

Glad you had a good time man. Hate to disagree, but Bud truly is the King of Beers.

I like my Bud as well as my Carling. But this pint Carling I had was truly something special that I won't forget for the rest of my life.

Rebecca Loos quite likes the taste alledgedly.
No Becks is fine but it can taste like an inferior Bud sometimes.
My fave lager would probably be Fosters due to its crisp taste...nah who am I kidding it's all down to the Paul Hogan ads in the late 80s- pure quality

Most missed lager has to be Lowenbrau. I remember it used to be on draught at the Bug & Black Bat (A.K.A. Rosie O'briens, the Bug & Grub and now Bar Red)
Haven't seen it anywahere for years not even in cans

Stella is actually the cheapest Belgian beer on the continent, its slang name in France (or at least in Lyon) is 'la pisse d'une souris' (mouse...erm...urine)
If I'm forced to drink beer, being a fluent-in-French Francophile it would be 1664 (which isn't Kronenbourg as that's a different, cheaper French beer-the two are just sold under the Kronenbourg brand in Britain) Or Jupiler (which is Belgian). You can keep your Heinekens and Fosters, and the yellow water that is Budweiser.
If I can choose, however, it will either be draught Guinness, Bass, or, ideally, a pint of Strongarm ale....like liquid silk, that stuff.

Go to Inspire in the Bull Yard - have some Belgin Beer - they know a thing or two about beer. Perhaps we should get together for a preseason pub-crawl - educate your taste-buds and broaden your horizons ;D
