So is this going ahead? I haven't heard anything about it on SKY yet, so it looks like it isn't.

What were the cameras doing at the Panthers game (apart from 5 seconds on Central News)?

check the elite league forum or THF- the cameras were there to record the game for a full scale trial show for NASN on Sky. It's supposed to be a 50 minute highlights show on one game per week from the EIHL along with team news, etc. Supposedly it starts in October (I think I remember the 26th being mentioned but can't be sure on that) and will continue at least until the end of the season. There's also word that there might be a special offer to subscribe, though I don't know if that limits what you can watch or whether it's going to bring the usual monthly price down from £10.99 per month to something slightly less

From the Blaze site:
"Fantastic news for supporters of ice hockey in the UK and NASN completes an exclusive deal with the Elite League.
John Lee, European and UK Commercial Director for NASN, confirmed that, “I am delighted that a weekly roundup magazine programme, featuring a highlight game from the Elite Ice Hockey League, will be viewed on NASN throughout the UK and also in our developing European Network. I am confident there will be great interest in the programme and am certain it will be a great success for all involved”.
The programme will initially be broadcast on Friday evenings at 7.00, commencing 21 October with the first show featuring highlights from one of the biggest rivalries in the league, being the previous weekend’s clash between Sheffield Steelers and Nottingham Panthers.
All Elite League club venues will be included in the programme during the course of the season and a full game schedule will be published in the near future.
The fifty-minute programme will in addition to game highlights also contain interviews with coaches, players, a UK wide results summary and comments from supporters.
“This is a show that should not be missed by any ice hockey fan in the UK and I am thrilled that the Elite League, using the services of Inspiring Too Production Team, has been able to produce for the public a quality programme. Our partners NASN and Planet Ice have been very constructive in ensuring delivery of this new initiative” reported the league chairman Eamon Convery. “It is the first televised magazine programme for the league and it presented by a new face to the screen, Zoe Chance. I am convinced that with Zoe’s wealth of knowledge about ice hockey and her dynamic personality the programme will become a must to watch”."
