People have been talking about the possibility of ice hockey being shown on TV next year, but the latest buzz seems pretty solid - the Elite League has almost sorted out a deal with Sky for next year. I hear that Sky would show about 30 games from next season, but the Elite League needs to have 10 teams and a sponsor. It'll be good to get the Blaze on TV though. As long as it isn't late night highlights

Yep, from what i hear the deal is done in principle as you say.
Getting that sponsor (i.e similar to when B+H used to pay for it) is the tough bit but hopefully it can be achieved!

From what I hear, getting the 10 teams in time will mean Manchester being up to a certain point by a certain time, some people are not optimistic about this happening.

Arrgghh the coverage is sooooo close one can almost touch it. Here's hoping Manchester can pull the Phoenix from the Flames to get the requisite number of teams

elite forum thread confirms two caveats:
> 10 teams. > elite leagues sponsorship ("the ELITE League have to pay most of the production costs for the first year").
Is NASN TV any good?

Maybe a certain someone with navy intentions could get his "shop" to sponsor the Elite League

Yes because someone at the bottom of the ladder in the company could REALLY have that much influence Though the Tesco EIHL does appeal to me

Yes because someone at the bottom of the ladder in the company could REALLY have that much influence I dunno, the way he talks about them so much betrays his low standing in said organisation ;D

While hockey on TV sounds great it makes no odds to me because I aint got sky Not enough sport on normal TV these days. I remember when we had a choice of two football matches on Sunday afternoons now we don't even get one. Thats a different story though.

haha! Not just me KR has just as much chance of getting tesco to sponsor the elite league as I do although me and the store manager are like best pals Although Tesco could deffinately financially aford to sponsor the Elite league, although I can't see how Tesco sponsoring the Elite league would make Tesco become a more succesful company.
