I'd pop into Tesco every now and again if they sponsored the Elite League. Maybe they could run a Tesco Win An NHL'er For Your Club competition similar to the one that Coca Cola have ran for Football League teams.

Might give them a bit more street cred ;D I doubt the company that just posted the largest ever pre-tax profits gives too much of a damn about that at the moment!

Does anyone have any more comments towards the topic? I think it would be great for British ice hockey to see the elite league on SKY next season. It should bring more coverage and raise awareness for the sport which can only be positive.

Read in the Mirror today of Mike Ellis and Bracknell applying to join the Elite league and not EPL as originally thought

Are Dundee, Fife and Guildford still without a league?

Read on THF about Fifes plans to move upwards. This would lead me to believe Dundee would follow suit. As for Guildford- don't know- don't like them much either

That quality publication the Mirror there.....
All that's happening with Bracknell is a seperate guy has proposed they go into the EIHL. And that hasn't been heard of since.
Bracknell will be EPIHL next season.

Without a doubt the sport should go on sky next season... there were a number of games i couldnt make last season and sitting at a computer clicking refresh to keep an eye on the sport and imagining the goals with absolutely no indication of how they were scored wasnt an awful lot of fun! It'd be good if they had live coverage but, more likely, even a decent length summary program (a la match of the day) would be a good step forward... It might also increase the amount of money from sponsorship deals for the teams and with more money available to the teams, maybe the salary cap could be raised. I know there are a lot of "if"'s in that idea, but more money leading to a higher salary cap would be good in the sense that we might not keep losing our best players to europe as they can offer higher wages. I know it wont happen, you know it wont happen, everyone knows it wont happen... but that doesnt mean it wouldnt be good! ;D
