What are peoples memories of the Coventry Blaze to date, starting from there first season in Coventry, if you've supported that long..?
I'll start with a nice recent one, Ashley Taits winning goal in the Play Off Finals, and topping off the GRANDSLAM.

So many:
Stephen Cooper single handedly defeating Guildford in the 2001-02 Playoff semi final first leg. Blaze scoring 5 goals in the thrid period away in Dundee to win 6-4 after being 4-1 down. Blaze winning the BNL. Both legs of the 2002-03 BNL Playoff final. Beating the Steelers 6-1 in our first Elite League season. The bench clearence at home to Cardiff. The 2004-05 Challenge Cup semi final second leg against Nottingham. Beating London to win the league. The Belfast double header the following week. Winning The Elite League Playoffs. The European Tour. Both legs of this season's Challenge Cup semi final.

6-1 against Cardiff, in the first leg of the challenge cup final last season.
If we've ever played a better period of hockey than the 2nd period in that game, lets hear about it.

Shaun Johnson knocking the net off it's mourings up in Dundee and saving an almost certain shot from going in. At first i thought it was Ian Burt who knocked it off, but after speaking with him after the game he said:
"I didn't do it, i think it was Shuggy"
That goal would have been very coslty, i think it was either in the Play Off Final or the match to determine who would win the BNL...

Singing the 2000/01 version of 12 days (And beyond) at the Spectrum on my first ever road trip. And also Chappy coming to say bye to the fans after his last match split lip and everything. Actually seeing that not all rinks were like the Skydome And thinking the place reminded me initially of the Leisure Centre in the Brittas Empire ;D

Forgot to mention the beating that Wade Belak gave to Russ Romanik in the second of last season's Challenge Cup final.

Early in my experience watching Blaze put 10+ past the likes of Paisley and marvelling at how their fans were still loyal until the end. Had it been football they would have been long gone

Early in my experience watching Blaze put 10+ past the likes of Paisley and marvelling at how their fans were still loyal until the end. Had it been football they would have been long gone For me...... Grenoble: The awesome fans, the bam-bams, the noise and the friends made along the way. Watching my team play in Europe for the 1st time was awesome, Challenge cup semi-final. Walking out with you the fans and doing the conga. The atmosphere at that game was just immense. Challenge cup final. Both legs! Especially the final, seeing the balloons come down and singing championies with about 20 people I didn't even know! That's what hockey is all about....The bus ride home with the team was fun too! Big one for me though was the league win at home. To win the league in front of the biggest crowd we've ever had was one of the best moments of my life. There are many pictures of me blubbing like a baby on the bench at the end! The Play-off weekend and the spectacle the league put on. So much work went into that and watching it on Sky afterwards was amazing. Obviously seeing the goal go in the back of the net as well! Finally....seeing so many people enjoy the end of season do. That night takes a lot of work and watching the slideshow with the players was incredible. There was plenty of emotion that night that's for sure! Mostly though, it was watching the fans enjoy the season and the matchnights. Watching the audio team make matchnights what it is today and listening to the fans when the rink is full. Our fans are fantastic and I don't care what people say about you. The so-called classless one's we apparently have will be found eventually and kicked out on their ear to leave the rest of you to create the amazing atmospheres you manage week in week out.

I forgot all about that slideshow DVD, that was awesome on the night and it still gets me hockeyed up now.
We need another one this year whatever the end of season result.
My main one is scoring to win the £10 Co-op voucher after getting a signed program, any scouts out there my shouting percentage is 33%.

Superb post. And it holds the memories for us all of why we come back each Sunday and travel all over the place each Saturday (And other days). Even when the results don't go our way. Even when we are looking up the standing at others instead of our customary position atop the ratings. Even though others may deride us for our faith both inside and outside the game Even when players that we have cheered for have gone elsewhere, and thus create the chance for new heroes We're there always because we bleed Blaze through and through. You don't need Hi-tec photographic equipment to capture images You don't have to outdo each other for who has the most replica tops or merchandise It doesn't matter which block is the loudest Me, You, He, She, They, We Are all Blaze through and through From the Rob Eleys via the Michael Taskers to the Neal Martins and beyond. Even god forbid life after Thommo there will be part of the world that is forever ours- forever Blaze Whether you go on a life changing journey to the other side of the world, or even have to move away that makes not being a live part of the experience possible. It doesn't matter- forever Blaze Pictures can get lost, autographs can fade, shirts can get out worn..... Everyone who passes through this thread on this forum are mostly here because of the same connection that a minority sport in this country can grab so many people in little over a half a decade that they will defend to the ends of time their choice, Many of us are good and great friends these days purely because of that connection But memories are forever and can never be taken away Memories are forever. Our Blaze memories are forever more **Steps down from preachers box**
