Blaze unveil new season's shirts ahead of the 2009-10 Elite League season

The Coventry Plumbing & Heating sponsored Coventry Blaze are delighted to confirm the launch of their new game jerseys for the 2009/10 season. As well as the regular white based home shirt and navy based away shirt, with this being the club's 10th Anniversary season, the club has commissioned a special third Anniversary sky blue based strip that will be worn for select games throughout the season.

“We’ve looked to do something a little different with the shirts this season,” said Blaze General Manager, James Pease. “We’ve taken a different approach to the design of the logo on the front of the home jerseys and incorporated our 14 Championship stars into it.

On the away jerseys, we’ve made the logo a breast badge and gone for just the word BLAZE on the front. A lot of people have said to us that we should look to do that at some point so we’ve decided to go for it this season.”

“We wanted to do something to mark our 10th anniversary here in Coventry so we have a really nice third jersey which the guys will wear at selected games during the season. Due to the various production slots we have with the manufacturer this season, we’re not planning on doing these as replicas but if people are interested we may look to see if we can get a production slot to do some later in the season.”

“We have an initial delivery of around 400 assorted shirts due in to us next Monday and so from 5.30pm to 9.00pm next Tuesday (18th) we’re going to have a launch night where they will all be available in Crosby’s for people to come and pick, try on and buy.”

The shirts will be priced at £50 for adult sizes and £40 for child sizes and will be on sale in the Hockey Locker from next Wednesday morning."

I quite like them and like the away jerseys with the 'Blaze' on the front, think it looks cool and I also like the third jersey.

The away is probably the best but not really a fan of any of them.
The "BLAZE" on the away one should be the only thing on the front (or the CPHS logo should be a lot smaller at least.)
Don't like the blue dragon logo and the circle around it just doesn't look right.
The third is just the Penguins third jersey with sponsors and the Blaze logo instead (also apparently where they got the blue circle round the logo idea from too.....someone at Blaze a big Pens fan?) Something more original would have been nice.

Won't be getting any, couldn't afford them if I wanted to anyway. £50 is too much for the screen printed jerseys. I might reconsider if they were the higher quality embroidered ones that used to be used for the play-offs.

I do agree with the price being a bit high for them, however the club needs to raise income from somewhere.

The 'CPHS' logo i think looks very good and not intrusive at all. I looked at last season tops tonight while at the game and thought they just looked very very squashed up and messy on the front.

I'm pretty sure that's shirt number 3 from the top. Not a "one off" but a "special occasion" jersey I'd think.
