Ferone spurns rich Devils Jun 3 2004 By The Journal
Tough guy Paul Ferone has rejoined Newcastle Vipers after saying "no" to a big-money offer from Elite League side Cardiff Devils.
The winger, 28, showed his prowess in last season's "WWF" line alongside Jonathan Weaver and Marc West, and proved he could go toe-to-toe with the best when it was time to drop his gloves and fight.
Ferone is the seventh forward to have signed for the Vipers ahead of the new season, leaving just two places to be filled on what looks to be a very strong three-line offensive unit. An import and last season's captain Rob Trumbley are expected to complete the nine attacking positions with up-and-coming teenager Andrew Thornton likely to be one of the spare forwards.
Wilson said: "Paul really wanted to come back, which is important because it shows what we are building here, and I am delighted."
