LeClair has been gassed by the Panthers (along with Juri Golicic) to make way for Johan Molin to return from injury and also for their newly acquired d-man from Alaska.

Don't shoot me down for saying this but I am actually starting to think that Lee and whoever else claimed earlier in the season that Corey LeClair was the second best d-man in the World just behind Jonathan Ericsson may have been overating him just a little bit to much.

I thought he got a hard time at the Skydome - but seeing his performance last night I can start to see the issues - he looked like a rabbit in the headlights most of the time he was on the ice. Shame as I invested in one of his gameworn shirts!

That "someone else" wouldn't happen to be someone that answers to the name "Rich" would it?! haha

I have to agree in part with 'deadsquirrel' I thought Corey had a hard time at the Skydome. The guy personally seemed a decent enough chap but his play has been criticised quite a lot in recent matches, both for the Panthers and the Blaze.
What I would like to say is that a number of times, especially at the beginning of his time in Coventry he did dig in and perform. Perhaps the problems with Kelman were affecting Corey's game too. After all the main reason for Corey coming to us was that Kelman was already here and they were good friends.
Anyway Corey has departed another NHL team and I would like to seem him get back on his feet. I would like to wish him all the best for the future and hope his experience at the Panties doesn't deter him from another NHL team.
All the best Corey.

The only thing that suprises me more is that we actually signed him in the first place.
Terrible signing up there with Kazowka, Belak G and Jamison.

dgudgeon, what is all this NHL business?
I don't know if anybody heard Thommo quick interview after the Panties game on Sunday. I don't recall his exact words but it was something along the lines of you can see why I released Cory tonight, I definately made the right choice.
Brucie was calm and controlling, Cory was benched by a team short on bodies to start with.

Terrible signing up there with Kazowka, Belak G and Jamison. I don't think Jamison is bad signing. In fact the last few weeks i think he has been playing very well. Kazowka and Graham i can agree with!

Corey was no worse than anyone else unfortunately not really much better and this allied with the belief amongst fans that he was the 'new' Neil Martin cannot have helped. Interesting thought about the Kelman connection, but I feel that until we have a D man who is really prepared to go to the corners and throw some big checks we still look vulrenable. All that said I thought last night was a good game of hockey, 1st period we dominated them, 2nd let them back into it in the early exchanges and the 3rd was ours again. Smashing little goal from Woods, well done, nice work from just about everyone especially Perras who played like he can. Lyle was a big contributor out there and he commanded his crease well, enjoyed it thoroughly for the grit and determination shown in the face of a good Giants team and some decidedly 'odd' officiating. Is it me are some officials over stepping the mark by man handling players when there is no need to, perhaps another thread but concern must be that when someone jumps on a player he may get a little extra for his trouble and the player lose his career, remember these guys are hyped up.....who was it fell on the ice when grappling a Giants player from behind??

One of the linesmen pushed Calder over when I think all he was doing was picking his stick up, it just happened to be next to a Belfast player who was down on the ice at the time. He certainly didn't look interested in trying to fight when another Belfast player came rushing in. (At least that's my view of it, could be wrong though)

Must be careful not to say anything to inflammatory but I would guess its the same guy who thinks its okay to hold onto and push players around whilst screaming abuse at them!!!!
