What has been the biggest low point for Blaze this calender year? What has made your heart sink? Who has been your villian of 2008 and what would you most like to happen differently in 2009?

Getting knocked out of Europe.

I'm prety much tied between getting knocked out of Europe and our current league position. The worse thing about Europe was the way we lost although we did have a great time. We're not where we want to be in the league right now but at least we have the opportunity to put that right.
I probably should have started a seperate poll for Villian Of The Year seen as we have a few nominations.
- The Referee In Bolzano - The Police In Bolzano - Various Elite League Referees - Corey Nielson
Any others?

I voted for fan favourites leaving - but i don't agree with how it's been worded. I voted for that because i'm more disappointed that certain people left and were replaced by lesser quality players. We've not really recovered from that.

I went for the drop off in attendances/atmosphere. For some reason there just isn't the same buzz as 4 years ago. Is it the product, the people or the complacency? I don't know but something appears to be missing.

I voted losing the PlayOff final.
We had a classy year the team seemed to gel and there was evidently a great mix of quality, grit and determination. The team seemed like a family. Winning the play-off's would have beeen the icing on the cake for the 07/08 season, but didn't quite happen. It was made worse that we lost to Steelers, but Sheff did play an outstanding game and they deserved the win.

The summer of 2008. Not only the loss of fan favourites but recruitment of players that just made you go

I don't know but something appears to be missing. The quality of player has gone down over the past couple of years, IMO. Wages in the ECHL have risen making it more attractive than the UK, the weakness of the £ against the dollar hasn't helped, and we are seeing more average CHL players instead of the AHL/ECHL players we are used to. From my point of view the hockey I have seen over the past two seasons has been the least entertaining in the 25+ years I;ve been following Barons/Blaze. The EIHL seems to be determined to alienate the fans as well. ridiculous decisions, woeful officiating, barmy competition rules and a basic failiure to communicate with it's customers.

I voted for loosing the play off final, a sad end to a cracking season.
Echo the posts about loosing our 'favorites', any team that lost the quality players we lost would suffer but as they say 'life goes on'.
Must agree with Nick regarding the EIHL they seem to see the fans as inconvenience and if they could get along without us then they would.
Happy New Year all.y

Hmm I agree that sometimes it appears that fans are a low priority
