If Belfast beat Sheffield and Nottingham beat Newcastle. On the plus side if Belfast do beat Sheffield tonight, even though they will be above us at least it will stop Sheffield pulling away further. Those that have spent the past two years wishing for a competitive league have finnally got their wish

Sheffield win to move 7 points clear of us, while Nottingham also win so move above us. This weekend is the biggest weekend of our season so far no doubt about it.

Anything less than four points will see the end to our league campaign.

Hopefully it won't - there is still quite a few games left to play, but, it definitely won't help with team morale and the psychological side being pushed to third with Sheffield 7 points clear.

No doubt about it, the biggest weekend of the season for the Blaze, I wouldn't agree any less and we have effectively ended our league campaign, but it would be an increasing uphill struggle if the Blaze don't take maximum points.

Anything less than four points will see the end to our league campaign. With 23 games left including 3 against the Steelers and 2 against the Panthers? Yeah I can see how we can't possibly come back from that

In terms of mathmatics whatever the results this weekend the title race will be far from over. However two defeats would have a massive psychological effect on the team and it would take real mental strength and character to bounce back.
Sidenote - big thanks to ec as I would have been here all day trying to work out how to spell psychological had you not already posted it earlia in the thread.

Momentum will be a huge factor. Of the top 4 we are a little hot and cold at the moment. Also on paper one could argue that the other sides are stronger and less likely to drop points.
We could do with some dodgy refs ;D

The team have had a couple of days to prepare, they probably knew that they would end up in this situation with Sheffield and Nottinghams recent form. I just hope that they come out with grit and determination to win against both teams and don't just hang back - that could be where the real problems start imo.
