Just curious really, I always find a lot of people complain about people who won't watch subtitled films, but I've never actually found anyone who doesn't watch them.
I personally couldn't care less about whether a film is subtitled or not. Some of the best movies I've seen have been subtitled (Letters From Iwo Jima, Apocalypto, Passion of the Christ, Battle Royale, OldBoy) Having said that I do have to be in the right mood for watching a film with subtitles. They aren't movies you can just put on and half pay attention too, you need to really watch them and concentrate on them.
I sometimes find it annoying at first that I'm missing a couple of seconds of the film everytime a line is spoken (or at least missing all the details of the picture) but that only seems to last 10-15 mins, and normally after the movie has finished I've forgotten it was subtitled and it feels like I've heard it all in English (if that makes sense.) Doesn't always happen that way, depends on the film and how good it was, but a lot of time it does.
BTW, the "Sometimes - depends on the film" option is like: you wouldn't normally watch a subtitled film, but if it's a film you want to see no matter what you won't let the subtitles stop you seeing it. i.e. If I didn't like subtitles I wouldn't have let it stop me seeing Apocalypto.

The best subtitled film I've seen was Letters from Iwo Jima. I watched Flags of our Fathers and then Letters from Iwo Jima and it really made it feel like you understood the Japanese side because it was subtitled. I think i enjoyed it better because it was all subtitled.

2 of my favourite films are South Korean films with english subtitles. Brotherhood and Old Boy.
Well, i say favourite films - Old Boy i've only seen once but i really enjoyed it and want to see it again so i can remember it properly!
Brotherhood on the other hand is one that i own on DVD. It's a Korean war film about 2 brothers both fighting for the South. One of the brothers gets injured in battle, but the other brother is lead to beleive that he's actually been killed so all of a sudden finds himself hating the country that he's been fighting for because of it and finds himself fighting for the communist North. The injured brother learns of his siblings' defection and once he's made a full recovery, tries to find his brother to show him he's not actually dead.
Anyway, i won't spoil the ending incase anyone wants the watch it for themselves, but it really is a quality film.

Not for me a problem. In fact on dvds I often set the subtitles (Or commentary subtitles) to on whilst watching the feature
