Sunday night can’t come soon enough as Blaze look ahead to Panthers visit. The whole Blaze team are really looking forward to this weekend's games, especially the visit of local rivals, Nottingham Panthers on Sunday. After a tough road game in Hull on Saturday, the Blaze will welcome the club that Head Coach, Paul Thompson recently dubbed “Team Hollywood”, to the Skydome Arena for a Christmas cracker that faces off at 6pm on Sunday. It is a huge game for both teams, both of whom are right in the mix in the chase for the bmibaby Elite League title. Blaze currently sit in second place, with the Panthers just one place behind them. Tensions rose between the clubs after comments made by Panthers Player Coach, Corey Neilson in November after the Blaze beat the Panthers 4-3 after penalty shots at the Skydome. The comments have left the Blaze players and staff determined to show who the better team is. "I think we'll do our talking on the ice," said Thompson. "I think our trophy cabinet shows that. The Panthers have their heads in the clouds so much - I hope they see our championship banners on their way down back to earth. Read the full story on www.coventryblaze.co.uk

You've waited a long time for a big win against the leagues Elite in your case it would appear that your not being able to use all your team hollywood jibes has left a bitter taste in your mouth! Shame we take this sort of banter and worse all the time and laugh it off, so be a bigger man and do the same! Is it our fault that your crass coach has reaped a bitter harvest from his ill-judged comments! Ok i hope you have a good xmas and stick to winding up the giants they are easy to upset! We will look towards trying to shut Matsos and Finnerty up now ok!

You're kind of agreeing with me Oldman. I was pointing out that for you guys it is a big a thing beating the Blaze as it was for us many years ago before we got addicted to trophies.
For me the weekend sporting world was fine as Villa beat West Ham.
