Recently much has been made of euthenasia and the right to choose to end suffering of terminally ill people whose quality of life has been severely diminished. How do people feel about this highly sensitive issue. In the UK it is illegal to adopt this "mercy" practice and yet clinics in Switzerland and elsewhere in mainland Europe cater for this act. Is UK law wrong in this case or not? Discuss

I don't think UK law is wrong as such, just a bit 'misguided' or a bit behind. It is my opinion that some people deserve to be able to choose when and how they die. Its a matter of dignity. Undue suffering with a long drawn out death? Not for anyone I love please.

I don't think that euthanasia is a right or wrong thing - I think that it is a personal choice as long as it is done for the right reasons. The law in the UK shows that even if it is against the law people will still travel to stop their suffering.

I think I would be in two different mindsets if it were either myself or a loved one suffering. Whereas I mightn't not want to suffer I'm not sure I could pull the trigger so to speak for another.
