Change to prizes:
As long as enough people enter the fantasy league on a weekly basis (15-20+) there will be a definite prize of next season's jersey for the Elite League team of your choice. (Jersey only - Custom names/numbers/cresting etc would need to be paid for by the winner)

Deadline for this weeks submissions is 5.30pm tonight.
A couple of people haven't named captains, they have received a PM about it and have until 5.30pm to name their captain. If I haven't heard back from them, I will use their first forward as their captain.
Unfortunately we haven't had enough entries this week to consider offering the big prize of next season's jersey, so sign up and spread the word......if the fantasy league was recommended to you by someone, tell me their Dragon's Den user name in you team entry and if they are signed up to the league as well you may both get a bonus. (Might be a couple of extra points, could be a chance to change your team after game 1 of the weekend if the players you selected don't seem to be doing well)

Due to a lack of time, we have not been able to get the competition going the way we want it to. We just don't have enough free time to remind everyone to enter a new team.
Because of this, we are changing the rules slightly. Instead of entering a team of 6 each week, you may submit a full team of 17. This team will be your team for the season, so there is no need for a weekly entry. You must pick: 2 netminders 6 Defense 9 Forwards
You can have a maximum of 2 players from any one Elite League team, however like before you netminders can be from any team regardless of your other selections. You can have a maximum of 10 imports, this DOES include your netminders. You can pick 1 captain (cannot be netminder) and you may change your captain once during the season (unless you are trade your captain, you may then change to any other player) You can make up to 5 trades during the season. Replacing an injured player WILL use up one of these trades (Maximum of 2 times - Should a 3rd player be injured you may replace them without using up a trade unless they are only going to miss 1-3 games.)
Points will be scored the same as before. Points scored under the old format will be disregarded, everyone will start on 0.
We will take entries up until 7pm on Friday 28th November.
The new rules will be posted below in full.

Team selection: You will make ONE team selection of 15 Elite League players (6 D, 9 F) and 2 Elite League netminders. You can select a maximum of 2 players from any one team; however the netminder can be from any team regardless of your other selections.
Your selections must play in that position (i.e. you can't put a forward in defence) In the case of players who can play both forward and defence, we will use the position listed on the team roster on the website. Other than having to be F or D, there are no other restrictions. It does not matter whether your selections are LW, RW or C. You can have a maximum of 10 imports, this DOES include your netminders.
Scoring points: For every one of your players who scores a goal you will get 2 points. For every one of your players who scores a short handed goal you will get 3 points. For every one of your players who gets an assist you will get 1 point. If you netminder gets a shutout you will score 3 points, if he concedes any goals but still wins the game you will get 2 points. If it's an OT or Penalty Shots loss you will get 1 point.
Where possible, the game stats will be taken from match reports on each team website and/or the Elite League website. If stats aren't listed there, we will use ih-update. If stats are not listed their either we look on the various forums for correct stats.
Trades: You can make up to 5 trades during the season. Replacing an injured player WILL use up one of these trades (Maximum of 2 times - Should a 3rd player be injured you may replace them without using up a trade unless they are only going to miss 1-3 games.)
Captains: You can pick 1 captain who will score double points (cannot be netminder.) You may change your captain once during the season (unless you trade your captain, you may then change it to any other player.)
What fixtures are covered: This fantasy league covers all Elite League games played between November 28th and the end of the regular season. Play-off and cup games will not be included.
How to sign up: If you wish to sign up, simply submit a team. To do this, please PM Steph Cowley with your team, including each players position (G, D or F), their team, as well as who you are naming captain. Please make the subject of the PM "Dragons Den Fantasy League" (You must be a member to sign up; if you do not sign up we will not be able to keep track of your score.) Please use the following format to submit your team: G - *player name* - *Player team* G – D – D – D – D – D – D - F – F – F – F – F – F – F – F – F – Captain -
Prize for winning the league: As long as enough people enter the fantasy league (20+ at least) there will be a prize of next season's jersey for the Elite League team of your choice. (Jersey only - Custom names/numbers/cresting etc would need to be paid for by the winner. Any P&P charges would not have to be paid by the winner unless they are outside the UK.)
The league is not just for Blaze fans, fans of any team may enter.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to PM any of the Admins/Mods, or post in this thread.
Thanks and good luck!

Quick question regarding netminders. Does a netminder that dresses for a game but doesn't get any ice time still score points if his team wins/gets a shutout?

No he doesn't.

Fair enough. What if a netminder keeps a shutout for the first two periods of a game and then gets replaced by the backup in the third period who then goes and conceeds a goal. Will the starting netminder still get points for the shutout?

I'm hopefully going to post the current standings later today. Unfortunately it doesn't look like there are enough entries to be able to offer a jersey as the prize, I'll see how competitive it is toward the end of the season though. There will still be a prize, just smaller (ticket to a game or something.)

Apologies for not updating the leaderboard with the last few games of the season. I plan to get it done this weekend and the winner will be announced. Due to the low number of participants the prize won't be a jersey. Another prize will be offered to the winner.
The competition will be running again this season, with the exact same rules and the prize will be a jersey should enough people enter. You have until face-off of the first league game (5th Sep - 6:30pm) to get your teams in.
