Without wishing to cause major controversy is it just me or are some of the people on there so petty its unbelievable. OK everyone is entitled to have an opinion but come on. We now have people taking the time to complain about somebody taking a St George's Cross with Coventry City on it to games. At the end of the day I'v worn both my England and Coventry shirts to Blaze games on occasions and when Blaze are playing in a final I tend to hang my own City or England flags in my living room window as the only piece of Blaze merchandise I could really put there is my Blaze top but I would obviously be wearing it at the time. Blaze are a Coventry team and an English team afterall so what is the problem? I also noticed that on the same thread somebody mentioned that they wern't happy that Blaze fans were singing 'Championies' as the season hasn't started yet, well arn't we the current champions anyway? Like I said I'm not trying to stir up trouble here and I would have posted this on the Elite League Forum if I was registered on there, but I just feel the need to get this off my chest, Blaze put up a good performance, beat last season's playoff champions and win some silverware yet some people never seem to be happy and will look for the smallest of things to complain about. What I'm basically trying to say is CHEER UP FOR THE CHAMPIONS ;D

Sadly the English (British) mentality is to always look on the gloomy side. In this country we don't like things going well hence the massive surprise at Beijing whereas countries who were only a couple of medals short blasted their competitors. Instead of the Union Jack the symbol should be of a glass filled to 50% with the words "Half Empty" on it

Can I add that anything featured a Coventry City Football (? ;D) Club badge on it at the hockey seriously offends me

My whole point:
- A group of guys in Block 10 take a flag to a game, and even though they sit watching the game like good supporters people still complain.
- A group of fans in Block 11 sing 'Championies Championies' and even though Blaze are the league champions people still complain.
- People boo the opposition in order to try and put them off during a penalty shootout and people still complain.
- In Aalborg after Blaze had played all their games a few of the players come over to stand with the fans during the game between two other teams. A nice gesture I think however some people complain that it was only a few players that came over and not the whole team.
- A group of their fans take their shoes off during the game and people complain.
I could go on but if I do any further I'd be in danger of being like the people I'm moaning about. It may only be a very small minority of fans, I wouldn't put it past some people to register more than one account on forums and pretend to be different people. However it is still slightly annoying.

i had no problem with the flag as such. only the foul and abusive symbol of sheer mediocrity and mis-management in the top left corner..... been taken way out of context lol.

Football fans are the future for hockey imo. As people get fed up with wages and prices etc this is a ready market looking for something new. The rivalry between our respective clubs means we need something West Mids to latch onto - the BLAZE!!!

I might be missing something here but why would you take a flag for CCFC to an Ice hockey game, you wouldn't take a Blaze flag up to the city so what prompted this. I f you want to show support for the Blaze, why not buy or make a flag designed around the team you are supporting. Also i think there is a feeling around hockey that it is a safe family environment, and people are a little sensitive about football 'attitudes and atmosphere' coming into the sport. I am not saying there cant be a mutual support of both sports(i am a convert from footy) but i stopped going to watch the city for many reasons, including the fact they are rubbish and the intimidating atmosphere that can surround games.

Just to clarify it wasn't any of us in Block 11 that took the flag to the game. The flag that I believe was being spoke about on the Elite League Forum wasn't actually a Coventry City Flag, it was an England Flag with Coventry City written on it. With regards to that I really don't see the problem, I mean nobody complained when Coventry City allowed the Blaze players to parade the British National League and Playoff trophies round at half-time once at Highfield Road. I kind of think its good for all the local sports teams to show support for each other from time to time.
Anyway the origional post was more to do with the overall discontent from people on that other forum rather than just about the flag. I read it earlier today though and there hasn't been as much complaining on it this week than previously.

Have any of those people who complain about a bad football atmosphere ever actually watched a match post 1989? I just ask as there is far more nastiness prevalent at the SkyDome than i ever see at Villa Park....even when the Blues are there

Yes, season ticket holder at Cov untill 2 years ago. Millwall, Swansea, Cardiff are just a few games i can recall in the recent past where thre have been major problems around the ground and further across the city. Also i dont recall seeing to many police at Hockey games in this country keeping all the angelic fans apart.I am not trying to have a pop at the majority of decent footy fans but to say the problem has gone away is simlply not the case.

No problem. You'd have got away with it if it wasn't for my freakish ability to memorize vertually every Coventry City game for the last 14 years.
