Petrol is pricey, trains are unreliable and busses are slow.
It's getting harder and more expensive to get around all the away games every season.
I know that there are a lot of people who drive to the local away games - if you have empty seats in your cars would anybody be interested in joining a car-pooling scheme where people would pay you for a seat in your car ?
Just thinking in the short-term if we could fill every seat going down to Basingstoke then we could probably boost the number of Blaze fans at the game by 30%.
I've organised these things before - they generally work pretty well, but it depends on the level of interest amongst the participants.
Would anybody be interested - say if the price were £10-12 there and back ?

£10 per travel should be what the coach prices ought to be aimed at. Presently they are marked at £15 per person in a bid to get 30 people travelling (On a 55 seater coach) to games. Now that equates to a costing of £450 per trip although JP assures me he knows of a better offer. Therefore if the price was lowered by a third how many more who don;t already, would be prepared to go by coach?

Well - the cost of a coach has risen this year - as has everything else - this isn't about not using a coach - it's about reducing the number of half empty vehicles travelling to local games - there are no coaches to Basingstoke and few if any to Nottingham/Sheffield.

Totally agree but the reason that car pooling is required is because the cost per person of coach travel has put it beyond the means of most when it shouldn't really be the case

I'd be up for that, we have a 7 seater landrover. I know a couple of others who would be (we were talking about this during the summer with them). However we can only do 2 local away games a month because of work.

With the retro revival in place and spacehoppers back on the shelves I think they should relax the prohibition of said Orange freaky bouncy things on motorways Just imagine a convoy of 70 odd spacehoppers going up the M6 ;D
