I am quite interested in this. Might take a look, I mean I have seen a list of what is up for auction and it is all to a good cause.

it may be going to more of an open cause but am i right in saying, in the grand slam year, doug sold his medals to help fund himself through after his uni course and thommo wasn't so happy about it?

Very true, I thought the same thing. I think the whole Thommo Versus Doug Dispute was more of a publicity stunt to keep Blaze in the media during the close season. Just my theory

The thing is that alot of the North American players take most pride in their championship rings, I'm not sure whether they are still made every year the team wins a championship.

still i know it may have been needed for doug to sell his medals and may have been done as a last resort, calder has donated his, yeah its a nice thing, but i'd personally like to keep anything that i had won not only as an achievment but as a memory also, maybe adam's different but we all are.....

Didn't Peasy sell his BNL winning medals?
The 04-05 team received Championship rings to mark the Grandslam, but I don't believe they are given out for winning just the league alone. Its probably just based purely on the club's discretion.
Overall I agree with Jake about keeping hold of medals, trophies etc, I'v kept all my trophies that I won for Indoor Football in my younger days when I had two healthy knees. Suppose for some players though just having the memories is enough and they don't need the medal to show for it.
