Archer goes Lightning

Milton Keynes Lightning of the English Premier League sign James Archer

British forward, James Archer who was recently released by Blaze Head Coach, Paul Thompson has joined EPL side, Milton Keynes Lightning for the 08/09 season.

Archer had spent two seasons on a two way contract with the Blaze before joining full time for the second half of the season.

Everyone at the Blaze would like to wish James every success with his new club.

Meanwhile, former Blaze import, Steve Gallace has moved Italian league teams from Val Pusteria to SG Cortina. The Canadian, who holds an Italian passport will be hoping the move will help him secure a place in the Italian national team for the 2009 World Championships where they will face Great Britain in Poland.

Goodluck to the lad. I bet he's gutted that he won't be playing alongside the great Kurt Irvine though.

i know he may have prevented joe henry a little bit of ice time and in sticking around even more, but i think we should have kept in around, because, you improve more in a harder/harsher environment. To me he was a great little player and showed much more than the likes of Carlon, and i liked Carlon, but could have been valuable as a tenth forward, especially as all these brits are demanding such high wages

I liked Archer, I thought he had a lot of grit as well as skill to his game. I think he will be a top brit in a few years.
