Should the Blaze replace John Dalziel as DJ and try someone new, or keep him? Myself, i think a change would be nice. Don't get me wrong i don't think he's done a bad job but i'd like to see someone else in the booth (ideally Grant Charman) or someone with that sort of character. I miss the days when hockey used to be rock 'n roll

I have voted ' to Stay' although I appreciate the views of those voting ' To go' John is sometimes over zealous with his comments but overall I like his bubbly personality and he makes me laugh. If I was an opposition fan ( or even player) I think some of remarks would annoy me but is that a bad thing from a Blaze perspective.
Edited for bad language

I do think there is something missing from the Blaze atmosphere these days, but I don't think JD is to blame for that. The fact is he is a Blaze fan just like the rest of us and thats what I like. Keep him.

maybe a co-presenter could work in favour of all i've voted to keep him, a great laugh 90% of the time, that 10% of the time he is just annoying, and thats when he gets the opposition players, fans etc worked up

A hockey announcer's job is to announce stuff to do with the game. Maybe that's why the atmos has been critised lately because we expect to have JD as a cheer leader and not do it ourselves. That said, JD does a good job and if he wants to do it still then let him carry on, but I'm still a Grant Charman kinda guy!

Good points well made Marco.
Nights at the Dome used to be hockey with a bit of music thrown in......sometimes they seem more like a kids disco with a bit of hockey thrown in

John is OK but the music needs some work to a) stop playing the same songs over and over and b) get some rock back

I would like him to stay, he's a good guy he knows how to get the crowd going, however you've got to think that the blaze have got to get people through the door so the whole set up has to be family friendly and fun! And I think JD does a good job at that.
However the atmosphere does need improving and the crowd needs to get shouting and be passionate. Music is a issue and does need addressing, more upbeat tempo stuff would be good and more hard passionate rock would work as well, the balance needs to be found.
Take the 3rd period in the playoff final those 20 mins proves why we are the best fans in the country. If we want to stay the best we've got to work with JD and keep the Blaze being the best hockey club in the history of British ice hockey.

A change of music is an absolute must in my opinion. I know they play pop music to keep the kids happy but it's as if they are forgetting that the whole crowd is not made up of kids and that 'family' sport means adults also. Even out the music with more rock and i think a lot of people will be happier.

I'd like the music freshening up, but JD is still without a doubt, the man for the job. I think we are very lucky to have him.

I do think at times that Blaze put so much effort into trying to make it family entertainment, that its become less like family entertainment and more like kids entertainment.
