Personally I don't think Payette has been as good in 2 years as what he was in just 1 with us. Admittedly we had a far superior side in 2004/05 but the original impact of his game has been massively countered in the ensuing years

didn't see hutch signing for vipers to be honest, would anyone have took him back into a blaze jersey? I certainly would of, could either pull off or he will just slump. Interesting with McKenzie though, no doubt a good brit, a good brit that once won the fight filled game in cardiff, think it was 5-4 and bari got the winner, but didn't he go over the atlantic? seems it didnt work out, wonder what line he will be on, as i'd rate carlon better than him and he couldnt (apparently) hold down a regular spot on the third last year, still great signing for the worms

The Hutch signing for Vipers is one from left field. He did well for us when not injured

The first new face on Excel Hull Stingrays roster for the 2007-8 bmibaby Elite League campaign will be that of American forward Rob Rankin. The 25-year spent last year with the Pensacola Ice Pilots in the ECHL and his 53 points in 70 games in his first season placed him fourth highest rookie for the league. He also managed to pick up 172 minutes of penalties along the way. An impressive first year saw him called up to a couple of games with Bridgeport in the AHL and he was selected for the ECHL all-star game. Mike Pack said: "We are delighted that Rob will be in a Stingrays shirt this season and we are sure that his speed and grit will translate to points on the board. "I know that Rob is relishing the challenge of a new team and a new league and the deal was done very quickly. The fans will love this guy." Derek Campbell set to be big hit Hard hitting Canadian forward Derek Campbell is the latest addition to the Basingstoke Bison for the coming season. www.bstokebison.co.uk/news.php?ymid=0707&item=1&option=nDerek Campbell statswww.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php3?pid%5B%5D=73413
