Apparently Mike Cowley has confirmed that the Blaze will be taking part in the Continental Cup next season......all that is needed is for some sponsorship deals to help with funding. More details as and when!! Here's hoping we get to go somewhere nice and different (Come on you Baltic States!!)

We won't get any of the big name countries as they have a different European competition to the one we have qualified for. Italy or France would be nice though

Excellent news, is there any confirmation? Haven't heard any from official channels. The piece in the program from Mike or Andy said it was something to consider so I would doubt a decision has happened this quick

Hope its possible. They made an appeal on Radio WM for them to get sponsorship money from local businesses.
Although £20,000 a weekend is a lot, with a max of 3 weekends therefore £60,000 nothing has been beyond this club so far.
(On a side note its good that Blaze are getting their efforts noticed espically by the BBC Local Radio station.)

Personally I know a lot of OAP's will disagree with me but I think that if Blaze can't get funding from local businesses the Coventry City Council should fund it.

Well there are reasons why it could be possible to persade the council to agree to this. If not dare I say it individual websites and forum members could fund it. www.blazeforum.tk could be one such website. Although I don't really have a lot of money to spare though.

If I win the lottery on Saturday (which is very unlikely considering I don't actually play it) I will personally give the Blaze the money they need. A team representing Coventry in Europe at anything can only be a good thing as it puts Coventry on the European map, in this case amongst Europe's ice hockey community.

I think that's the whole point, i can't see the city council putting in anything in the next couple of years, not after that expense!

Maybe the council could pay for it by increasing council tax in all areas bar the South-East of the City
