As we said in this month's newsletter, members of staff aren't always able to provide updates for Blaze games.
We are going to trial a volunteer system, where fans, of any team (don't have to be Blaze fans) can volunteer to either update game threads, or send texts from a game so that someone else can update game threads.
We'd like to provide updates for home games as well as away games, and also any midweek games.
What would be involved:
For anyone sending text updates:
Goal updates
Major penalty updates
Major event updates
End of period/game SoG (if possible), PiM, and if possible a comment on how both teams are playing
OR
If you would not be willing to send that many texts, just goal updates, or even end of period updates would be better than no updates. Ideally though we would like all/most the above updates provided.
For anyone updating game threads:
Posting all the above updates as and when you receive them
So, if you know you will be around to update game threads for an upcoming Blaze game, or you are traveling to an away Blaze game and could text someone updates, post in this thread saying what game/s you can update, and whether you can send texts from a game or update game threads.
Please follow this format to post:
"Game: Blaze/*Away team* Vs *Away team*/Blaze - *Date*
Service: Send texts from game/Update game thread on forum
Updates: If texting from game: *List updates you would be willing to text. eg. Goal updates and end of period SoG, PiM*
If updating game thread on forum: *Periods you will be able to update. eg. You are going out but know you would be back in time to cover the final period. Or, you can update 1st and 2nd period but not final period.*"
