Well he played well tonight although it did seem like something wasn't quite to his normal high standards. Hopefully nothing too bad

Neal played well again tonight. I'm guessing his shoulder isn't as bad as first thought, thankfully. Hope everything is ok, and he's back to 100% asap.

Neal Martin went off early tonight at the Blaze v Giants game, just before the MOM so his arm must have hurt more than first thought. I hope he is ok and can play. What do people think?
We are top of the league, 2-1 to Blaze!

He has four days to recuperate and hopefully training will be such that it doesn't affect him too much.

Neal was obviously playing through pain and nowhere near 100% He didn't shoot the puck at all, passing wasn't as good as normal and he played only about half the amount of time he normally does in a game. The key is for him to be fit enough for IF we need him on thursday. Personally i hope he's on the bench but doesn't have to play too much.

I'm guessing if we are in a comfort zone on Thursday his shifts will be less and ditto with regards to Sunday. Saturday is the big question though

What a fantastic professional Neal Martin is. To be honest I had no idea he was carrying an injury but the fact that he did play through the pain barrier shows he wants to play all the time and wants to win. Adam Calder was apparently the same when he was injured, desperate to get back into it. Legends.

At this stage of the season you tend to find that no player anywhere is playing without some sort of injury or knock however minor. The adrenalin takes over with the intestinal fortitude

Article from today's Evening Telegraph:
"Coventry Blaze defenceman Neal Martin could be rested from the Challenge Cup final second leg later this week as he is struggling with a shoulder injury.
The final will be in a run of four games in six days that could be enough to secure both cup and league titles.
The away game in London that had been scheduled for March 4 has been moved to Tuesday, March 1.
It means that Blaze have a trip to Cardiff on Thursday, then Nottingham on Saturday and play host to Fife on Sunday before travelling to the capital two days later.
Martin iced in Sunday's win against Belfast but was restricted in his movement. He left the ice before the end of the post-match presentations doubled up in pain, and is having his injury checked out by specialists.
"He shouldn't have even played, but that tells you the kind of player he is," said coach Paul Thompson. "He couldn't shoot, he couldn't pass and he could hardly hold a stick but he still went out there for the team in a crucial game.
"We have to get him back to full fitness and if that means him not playing in Cardiff, that's what we'll do."
Blaze go into the final with a five-goal cushion, having won the first leg 6-1.
"It's going to be tough over the next few games," said Thompson. "But no-one said it was going to be easy. If we want to win the league we will have to get through it."
A more relaxed affair beckons the following week when Blaze take on a team of all-stars in Paul Thompson's testimonial game, celebrating his 10 years as coach of the organisation.
Andre Payette will be the referee with former Blaze hero Kurt Irvine and mad-cap goalie Stephen Doyle acting as linesmen.
A number of Blaze players from recent years will return for the match, which will also feature all the current Elite League coaches.
"It's all about having a fun night," said Thompson, who will be playing for the first time in 12 years in the game."

The games Neal will miss will have to be picked very carefully
