Well, a massive weekend of hockey coming up for the Blaze. 05/02/05 we play our arch rivals, the Cardiff Devils at home and the follwing night we play our former arch rivals, the Dundee Texol Stars, up in Dundee. It's really hard to predict a score for the Devils game on Saturday, as we just don't have a clue what to expect. I mean, the last time we played them we whooped them 7-1, yet there still right behind us in the EIHL, so all to play for. I expect a rough game of hockey, with a low scoreline on Saturday. As for Sunday, i can see the Blaze winning comfortably, maybe a two/three goal cussion.
Everyone else...

Taking one game at a time next weeks match up with the Devils should be a classic if we play at home like we play away and they play to strength with Johnny Craighead

The Devils game is MASSIVE although so is every game from now till the end of the season. If we can pick up the win we will be at least 3 points clear of them and that is if they win their games in hand. Still IF is the joint biggest word in the English Dictionary for meaning. It will be a hard game.
As for Dundee well like I said before the Hull game, the key to Blaze beating BNL teams is patience. One thing that could go against us is that not many Blaze fans will be up there but at the end of the day I think the players will be professional enough not to let that bother them. They will just go about it like their normal everyday business.

We have already played them since we whooped them 7-1 and we won 4-0 but we haven't played them since Craighead has joined the team(will this make any difference?)

I am starting to think that this Saturdays game will be the most important home match against the Devils we will play this month. We simply have to win as losing will throw away our recent superb work and let the Devils back into the title hunt (And with a bit of momentum at present too)
Following what should be a blockbuster at home the character of the team will be severley tested by the long road trip on the Sunday to play the ever improving Stars.
This could prove to be the most crucial weekend of the season. Fingers crossed

As for you're post B2P Steve, i think you've hit the nail on the head, this weekend could prove to be the BIGGEST of the season so far. We cannot let the Devils back in the title run, we have to finish them on Saturday, whilst were on fire! Come on you Blaze!

if we play like we have been doing in recent weeks, especially third periods, we can't lose.
so it all depends on the night, we're certainly going into both games with bags of confidence though, 4 points this weekend will certainly drive a stake in the ground for the title chase.

We have bags of confidence but so do Cardiff and Dundee at the moment. Should be a nail biting weekend

It's almost as nail biting as tonights game between Man Utd and Arsenal.

It's almost as nail biting as tonights game between Man Utd and Arsenal. You mean the battle for second place in the Premiership. Why can't I put emotions on half my posts?

Nope, the game where the winner goes to take Chelsea on for the title. Anyway, excellent weekend of hockey ahead of us

It won't get to them as back in America and Canada, away games are far to far for their fans to travel, so normally they are used to an arena being filled with HOME fans only.

Jody was awesome last night (MOM), but Dan's turn on a sixpnece for Neal's goal was magic!
Did anyone see which Cardiff player threw his water bottle at Dan Carlson as he skated down the ice to score the empty netter? Surely the referee saw it? I thought the bottles had players names on them? Surely this must have been a misconduct. Any thoughts?
Doug did well with Rempel, but I thought the Andre and Mr C fight may have been staged managed. Taking each others helmets off, wild swings missing etc. Did you see them laughing and joking in the 3rd period...They seemed to be best buddies...
