Okay guys, it's the new(ish) guy here. I'm a lifelong Flyers fan and will be making the trip down soon. I am interested in your own opinions of your team. We beat the Steelers and a couple of other Eliters, but i am unsure of how we will fare against the Blaze. I used to love seeing you guys come up to our barn and it will be great to see the Skydome for the first time ;D please tell me, what do you honestly think of your team? Best players? (Reading back it looks like im trying to gather intelligence for something...heh heh, but im not, im just nosey and interested )

we have no 'best players' they are all equally as good as each other, they all do their own job well, and they all gel as a (near) perfect team.

Where to start really? Our netminder Jody Lehman has been on top form for the past few weeks, and the goals conceded by the Blaze recently can't be put down to him. He had a great season two years ago when he was BNL player of the year, not so good last season but definitely adequate.
Our biggest character is #7 Andre Payette, who is always up for a fight, and can find the net as easily as the penalty box. He can turn a game around, and we might need him to help us come from behind, as we had to in your barn.
The biggest "star" in the team is defenceman #3 Wade Belak who has come over from the NHL. He's been quiet as of late, but he can put the big hits in, and has also found the net this season.
In my opinion the best player in the Elite League is Blaze's #6 Neal Martin.
Look out for Brits #17 Russ Cowley and #20 Tom Watkins on the 3rd line, they can put the goals away too.
And of course 25, 26, 27.
That'll do.

Sounds interesting. I was at the match and to be completely honest, i wasn't impressed with Wade Belak at all. He didn't look interested.
Jody Lehman is a good keeper though, as he has proven! Was it him that had to be taken off during the game at Fife, a puck to the mask i think? The backup went on then came off a minute or two later, scoring a shut out i believe!
Thanks guys!

Can't ever remember getting a shut out at Fife we always seem to concede at least 1.
By the way I hear Steve Briere is on his way back. Is this true?

Steve Briere is back already! We had Scott Hay, who was an excellent netminder, but unfortunately he was sacked by the coach in favour of Stevie B.It was very nfair and there's a loy of hoo-haa about it! However we have a great n/m who can win games for us, he saves shots standing on his head

Agreed i remember the last home match at the Skydome against the Flyers when Briere had a career game. We won 4-0 but it should have been at least 14-0 if not for him

Seems to be his preference here. Loves the fans and the fans adore him an all his family is here, so its fair to say that he is here to stay now
