THE RINK RUSH
SEVEN DAYS, SIX MEN, ONE GOAL
In February 2005, six hockey fans from Nottingham will be setting out on a unique journey. It will take us to over 50 ice rinks and arenas throughout the UK in the space of just one week. All to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
We will be visiting every single rink in the UK where senior men's hockey is played, starting and finishing at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham. We will travel by minibus, train, ferry, bus and even plane to get to all the venues in the allotted time.
The Rink Rush will be raising money for Cancer Research in a number of ways. Firstly, individuals or companies can actually sponsor us for completing the trip. In addition, we will be carrying out bucket collections along our route, particularly at the games we manage to visit. Finally, we will be auctioning hockey-related memorabilia donated by clubs, players and fans.
The auction has already begun, and a number of unique items will be up for grabs in the coming weeks.
