I would still go for the experience but would prefer a match at the Oddyssey. Those who haven't been before will not understand how perfect it is to watch a game there. Those that have been will know exactly what I mean Amen to that one Whiskey...absolute quality!!

Hatman Oh so now he's lying Me and Rich love a good debate, it's all for fun though (if it wasn't, i would have deleted our comments from this thread) EDIT - Just found this info on another forum: There is a possibility that the Giants v Blaze game may still go ahead but not played at the Odyssey, played at the Dundonald ice rink (apparently that's the Giants training rink) Yet more rumours, but no official statement! I'll keep you all posted as and when i hear things!

Alarming post from a Giants fan on the Elite forum that the rink in Dundonald is "not a suitable venue for a cross community event"
Can anyone throw any light on this?

I think they may be refering to the political/religious state of northern ireland. As the Giants organisation has been very careful to avoid any sort of link to any protestant and catholic debates/organisations to the extent where i believe football shirts are banned from the arena to avoid any disputes arising. I don't know where exactly Dundonald is, but it is probably an area specifically linked to one group or the other so the view may be that it is better not to play there and put some fans off of travelling to the game.

Found this on the Hockey Forum and on the Belfast site
QUOTE GIANTS ANNOUNCE RESCHEDULED GAMES and a series of exciting double-header weekend
Friday 8th January 2005 - The Belfast Giants today announced that the two home fixtures planned for the 27th and 29th January have now been rescheduled. General Manager John Elliott announced the exciting new double-header weekends. "It was due to circumstances beyond our control that we had to re-arrange these two fixtures, but I'm delighted to announce that the rescheduled games will see the Giants at home to Cardiff on Thursday 3rd March, as well as the currently organised fixture on Friday 4th March. In addition we will now play Coventry in a double header the following weekend at the end of the League season on 11th and 12th March."
"This means three of the current top four teams will be going head-to-head here in Belfast in March in the last 2 weekends of the League Season. As the race for the League title reaches a climax these 2 weekends could prove to be massive in many ways. I apologise to opposition team fans for any inconvenience but existing tickets purchased for the 27th and 29th Jan are automatically transferable and we are now also working on a double-header ticket deal for both weekends which will allow the fans to see the games for a special price package."
"The atmosphere is always electric but I know the friendly rivalry will bring even more excitement to the Odyssey. The Belfast Giants are currently joint 3rd in the League, only three points behind leaders Cardiff and with a game in hand. We are in action at home this Saturday against Sheffield but Cardiff and Coventry are also playing each other this weekend. We are now over half way through the season and the League positions continue to be hotly contested, with no one team stretching ahead."

The origional B2P were us lot that went to Blue Coat, My bro and the Gary Gang. But now the B2P has grown, which means more noise, therefore a good thing John is part of the B2P and he is going to Belfast so strictly speaking the B2P will be in Belfast, Just not all the B2P. Then again when has the whole B2P ever been to an away game apart from back in the days when the B2P only had 8 people tops? Even one or two people will miss the Nottingham game in a couple of weeks, its no big deal though because the B2P doesn't rely on individuals. I hope this post makes sense but I somehow doubt it will Its all good fun though ;D

Well all I can say is thank god its been sorted sensibly.
I have transferred my flights now and must say am glad its been sorted this way. At least we now don't have to change bookings for one game and then book flights for a game on a different date as well.
people have plenty of option in flight times back now as well which should help reduce the return flight costs, as we are now playing london on the 28th jan instead of 13th March.
