It's fair to say that the first period was Blaze dominated, and the second and third were still more Blaze, but not as much.
It would have been nice to get the win, but before the match we weren't expecting much, being without Belak and Mihalik. And I didn't expect to get 2 points in total from the Steelers and Panthers games this week, so I can't really complain.
Jody looked solid in the first, and when the goals went in you couldn't really slate Jody for them, and he was MoM. However I think #27 was more deserving, he played really well tonight and was unlucky to have not gotten a goal.
The Panthers fans were quiet all night, except for a few chants in the third period. I fear that without a certain Posse there, the away contingent would have been equally library-like.

First words-SIGN DAVID CLARKE NEXT SEASON, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!
Now that's out the way, reflections on tonight's game:
Carson was trying to re-habilitate himself in Nottingham-some of the calls were questionable to say the least.
Payette took at least one stupid penalty (his first, for a needless swipe at Ivan)
PK was on fire-aided in no small-part by Tait and Poirier's fine play.
PP...hmm-still needs a little work.
Goal of the night goes to Clarke-nothing would have stopped that wrister after Ivan had dug the puck free...
Schueller is looking closer to his best...
Belak is back for the second, and the rumour is he'll bring a mate with him-names bandied around include Kaberle, Domi and McCabe. Which would be nice...

I heard the tweenies song being sung ;D
I am thinking that Nottingham played Blaze 'dance' songs a lil too much for it to be coincidental, hehe they must love our dances

I though we did extremely well given the circumstances,as i did think we would get torn to bits but thankfully i got proved wrong. I'm not jodys biggest fan at the best of times but he really desevered MOM.

An excellant game, and an excellant point for the Blaze. Fast, open, skillful hockey with some good hits, and to be fair to Carson, fairly well reffed overall (some strange calls and quite a few missed on both teams but let the game flow).
I thought we would really struggle tonight with missing/unfit players but everyone out there played superbly. I don't think anyone should be singled out as MOM as I think it was a real team performance that saw all contribute.
James Pease has stepped up big time this season and his much more physically style compared to what we have seen before from him is working wonders.
Its a real shame that a mistake from Mcnamara when he fanned on his clearance, and a deflection off of Dougs skate allowed the Panthers to score 2 goals.

Belak is back for the second, and the rumour is he'll bring a mate with him-names bandied around include Kaberle, Domi and McCabe. Which would be nice... Kaberle and McCabe both have teams in top european leagues and would never consider coming here for the money we have to offer. Domi is very stronly rumoured to be going to Sweden with Mats Sundin. The only Leafs D-Men without a European club are Brian Leetch (not going to happen), Ken Klee (possible but unlikely as he regularly ice for Team USA and could probably go to big European league) and Drake Berehowsky (most likely as he struggles to get in the leafs team and probably wouldn't be wanted by any of the big European clubs). You've also got to remember that the DEL teams will soon be signing up NHLer's as most teams have waited to see if the season is cancelled before signing due to only being able to sign so many imports per season.

From what i have read Domi is not going to sweden with sundin and is rumoured to not be going anywhere he actually stated he did not want to be away for his family for months at a time and that was at the beginning of the season...so he looks unlikely to go anywhere

forgive me if i am wrong, but i thought that it was us who 'stole/borrowed' those tunes off them?? The dance is ours. The song was first heard at the NIC which was where I and two others initially came up with it at the last ISL Play offs final. The rest is history
