Well you can't not have heard of this story. Thoughts. Comments. Opinions. Should there be tighter laws about buying guns in America. Was the uni at fault, and could they have done more to protect their students.

The debate about gun laws will run and run.
That said we as a country are not in a position to boast of law and order with fatal stabbings becoming a daily event.
Some people are just way too disturbed

While this is obviously very tragic I have to say I was extreamly disapointed with the Sun Newspaper on Tuesday for replacing the usual content on page 3 with this story. They had plenty of other pages they could have used to cover the story.
As for the debate itself, some are saying the Uni should have had armed guards who could have prevented this from happening or at least the deathtoll being so high, although the fact a headcase like this was capable of getting his hands on the weapon in the first place is the real issue.

I don't like to be viewed as a tight-fisted guy, however when it comes to clicking on the 'good post' link next to a message I am very tight-fisted. A post has to really merit it for me to click on the 'good post' link, but the above post was top draw, good work.

I also agree. "Life goes on" is a well known saying. Page 3 is well known for what it is. There is the whole of the rest of the newspaper for the story.
I do find it a bit laughable that the university sent their students emails to warn them. This falls down for three reasons:
1) Students need to be on a computer in the first place to receive the message.
2) (I can speak from personal experience from this.) If the uni is like Coventry University, it would soon be displaced with less important emails such as "printers not working," "oh and now it is" 10 minutes apart.
3) How many people would think its just another spam email.
