I saw my first EIHL game on the 18th of December against the Panthers. Being from Canada, I've grown up with the game and was excited to find a Leaf on the Blaze. Unfortunatly I thought he was less than on fire. He did not take care of his end of the rink and was the cause of several odd man rushes. I hope for the sake of the Blaze that he wises up. I know Pat Quinn wouldn't enjoy play like that, Wade.

To be fair to him our defence was a little stretched with Doug being injured, however he certainly aquitted himself well the following night...just ask the Pasty ;D

I will be in Exeter over the holidays. I thought a Belak Leafs jersey would be an appropriate gift for my brother in law and want to buy a Belak Blaze jersey to take home to Toronto with me.
Any ideas where I might be able to get one in the Exeter area? I have no idea who sells the jerseys.
Thanks, Seagreen Yet another Leaf fan

I think the only possibilty would be either at the Skydome or through the Hockey Locker I'm afraid

I have to say that the 18th and the game before were Wade's worst games, i agree that he was responsible for a lot of 1 on 1's on both those nights. I think he was drifting up the rink looking for points.
He had an excellant very disciplined game on Sunday night, never got drawn to the puck when he had a marking job to do and flattened Cornish, excellant game!
You will only be able to get a Belak Blaze shirt from the Skydome or the Hockey Locker in Coventry and you will have to be fast as well! I'll do you a postal swap for a blue Belak Leafs shirt though???

Yeah i can see him bragging about that one when he's back at the Air Canada Centre Fact is like it or not, Cornish took Belak out of the game for four minutes which was the whole point of the fight. Which is the bigger loss? It doesn't take a genius to figure it out....

Most of your posts tend to be either anti or negative.

I agree with Dave17, from a Blaze fans perspective the pasty pasting got by far the biggest pop of the night from the crowd. And to answer the question, no I don't believe Wade will be bragging about that one back home, however in 10 years time many Blaze fans will recall it with fond memories

Certaintly am!
I'm definatly not anti-blaze at all, just a little frustrated at a couple of things about the way that hockey seems to be going in this country...
But to answer the question:
Okay, your right B2P Steve it was the biggest cheer from the crowd all night. I'm not going to argue the toss on that one.
But lets take the situation shall we:
Right, with Schuller and Watkins, both very competant d-men out of the side (i am aware that Watkins is predominatly a forward but he has played D quite well especially last season..) , it fell back to the ones that we had in the game and more importantly to stay in the game and not draw penalties. To their credit our D only picked up one minor penalty prior to the fight (Belak, Tripping, 24 mins) and in fact for the Blaze it was a low game on minors a good plan from Thommo to protect the d.
With 4:30 left on the clock, Maxwell needs to take one of the blaze d out of the game in order to get a chance of an equaliser because Racers quite frankly had been dire up front all game.
Cornish picks a fight with Belak and he accepts which knocks us down a d-man to three.
Then one second after the concidental double minors finished... Racers score on a goal that was created by a defensive error (not closing down the man on the point).
My final point is that at the end of the season, i don't belive the fans will not give a shiney's how many fights Payette/Belak has been in, or how many people Milalik has put their arse they will care about one thing..
WHERE BLAZE FINISH IN THE LEAGUE.
It really is IMO as simple as that.
If i'm supposidly anti-blaze for actually caring about the results rather than how many fights we win then so be it ;D

PERHAPS THE PANTS GAME WASN'T WADES BEST, BUT I REMEBER A 3 ON 1 SITUATION WHERE, IF WADE DIDN'T JUDGE IT JUST RIGHT, THE PANTS WOULD HAVE SCORED FOR SURE. AS IT HAPPEND WADE GOT A FAINT TOUCH, WHICH CAUSED THE PUCK TO BOBLLE WHEN IT WAS PASSED JUST IN FRONT OF HIM, ENOUGH TO PUT THE PANTS PLAYER OFF HI SHOT. THOSE THINGS ARE WHAT MAKES A MILLION DOLLAR PLAYER!

That happened right in front of where i was standing. Belak didn't get a touch on it, but his presence forced a saucer pass over his stick, which as it landed didn't settle, it bounced and rolled meaning that it slid/rolled away from the player coming in on the far post.

to be quite honest it was worth losing the game for me to see Wade in the flesh throwing the punches in a decent fight.
I'm a big fan of his and could not believe it when i heard he was coming to play for the Blaze, i was shocked and stunned!
I've been waiting to see him in a decent fight and if anyone saw me going wild during the fight they will know what i mean.
His awareness of what is about to happen, positional play, discipline to stick to his task and accuracy and speed of passing has been demonstrated to great lengths since he has been here.

also, I'd like to point out that Cornish is not a crap fighter. he has beaten ewasko and drew/edged darling. He has also put up a good fight wih angelstad. The man is an enforcer and has been for his career. He does a lot of fighting and is good at it. He beat schlender, just graham landed on top, after wrestling a lil on the ice. However on their feet, jeremy won. The payette fight, was a nothing fight really.

Well said Davey. Therefore Wade did something that not a lot in the Elite League could do and put smiles on 2000+ people at the same time ;D
