Don't have any so can't really say but if you want quite a lot of songs on it, go for one of the Ipod.. and if you have a tendency to drop things.. don't get any lol. Hense the reason I don't have any.

I own an Ipod 60gig photo and a mini.
It all depends on what you want.
Be very careful with any iPod, they need looking after.
A shuffle is very basic, it wont do anything but shuffle through the music and has no screen.
The pod and nano will do music and pics.

I wouldn't get an iPod at all.
I would suggest the Creative Zen Xtra or Creative Zen Touch. They are as good, if not better than iPods, they are, IMO, easier to use, and they are a lot cheaper.
They are bigger and bulkier than iPods but they can take quite a lot of bashing about. I've dropped mine many times and it still works perfectly.

iRiver also do some damn good MP3 players...plus they're less likely to get you mugged.
Also, it's easier to transfer music as you don't have to suffer the infernal iTunes in order to do owt.
Although I use my Nokia phone with a memory card, so I'm not really the best to ask.

I don't have any of these Mp3's. I have the Sony Bean (In Pink!) Nearly got the Ipod Nano, but the Bean has a much longer Battery life  ) |

I'm happy with my Nokia 6280, it has a fair bit of memory on it and ofcourse a radio.
I still use my mini disc player to be honest, nothing wrong with it and it's fairly small to carry around with me. Also you can pick one up for dirt cheap nowadays with all this new technology around.

thanks everyone for your opinions. and steve, singing to oneself in public gets weird looks. listening to music loud using a mobile music system gets strange looks too but whatever.

i'd say mp3 there small n easy to use, ipods people want to rob them so unless you want to get mugged then get a ipod
