Anybody read any Wilbur Smith?
Thinking of getting 2 or 3 titles for Christmas and would welcome any recommendations

I have indeed. River God and Warlock are a good pairing if you like historical intrigue...he's not my favourite author but will gladly pass the time with him...

Still on Cold Is The Grave but am getting into Peter Robinson as an author. The series seems a good one to read more of

OK I have applied to a book shop for a job, and decided to read this thread, and say my 3 most recent books red were from this thread, (even though I haven't read them.) Hopefully there is enough to bumble through an interview, should I get one.
The three books I have chosen were Past Mortem by Ben Elton, Petrified by Barbara Nadel, and Brandenburg by Henry Porter.

Past Mortem I got from the library and was absolutely brilliant. Easily the best I've read this year.

This wek have read The Burning Man by Phillip Margolin, bit of a slow burner of a read but a long way from the worst book I have read , would probably read more by this Author.
I am now reading Mr Clarinet by Nick Stone which to date is a good read all in all an excellent debut novel by this author.

On a mission now to get more Peter Robinson books following Cold Is The Grave & The Summer That Never Was.
His characters are easily depicted and exude familiarity straight away making the novels flow perfectly
