Sorry if this view is too right wing for anyone, but do burglars deserve a good beating if a householder catches them in their house taking things. I would say yes.
And as Tony Martin will probably get mentioned in this thread, I might as well mention it in the opening post. Did he do the right thing. I think he probably did.

Absolutely.
He who puts himself outside the law should not be protected by it.
Tony Martin was apparently a bit odd anyway but still had right on his side when being burgled.
To be honest if that guy hadn't been shot he would probably have got a Carribean cruise at the taxpayers expense

I'm on a roll now.
Why stop at burglars? Murderers, rapists and paedophiles should all forfeit their right to live if their guilt is proved beyond reasonable doubt

If anyone ever broke into my house they would receive a leaving present from me which would be the hardest object I could find round their head. The fact Tony Martin spent even one night in a police cell is a disgrace. Afterall the law is there to protect people, it wouldn't have been protecting him if the guy that he shot had managed to get away with robbing him and even worse killed him first. If the law doesn't protect a person then that person has to protect themselve. End of.

yes, if a burglar is caught in your household, you are totally within your right to dish out some grevious bodily harm, preferably with a base ball bat, golf club, pastry roller or anything else handy

Those people should be locked in a room and forced to listen to Westlife non stop for a week

If someone breaks into your house you should have free scope to do what you want.
Who's to say, when you wake up in the night and find someone dowanstairs thrashing about, that they aren't going to kill you and rape your wife and daughters? If you don't know, dont take the chance. Tony Martin did the right thing, the only pity is that he didn't kill the second one.
The law must change soon or our own versions of the A-Team will be taking charge and killin folk up here!

The A-Team may have been soldiers of fortune but they never killed anybody. After a spot of fisticuffs they always tied up the bad guys and left them for the cops whilst they made their getaway

The A-Team, a truely amazing group of individuals who formed a truely amazing team. People we can take a lot of inspiration from.
