I would just like to wish any one who celebrates this day a happy ST Patricks day. Oh and remember: Dont drink and drive...

Although I'm not Irish, I just have to say if the Irish want to have a party why should I stop them.
However I'm not too bothered about any of the STs days.

Yep always good festivities although this day brings out 3 constants
1. Some people will pick a random element of their family tree and declare their pride in their own Irishness
2. Some will bemoan that we celebrate this day more than we do that of St. George
3. Some clever git will pronounce that St. Patrick was in fact a Welsh priest
All 3 of these were checked before 10 o clock this morning.
Anybody get all 3 earlier than that?

Some clever git will pronounce that St. Patrick was in fact a Welsh priest 1) Don't even need to do that. 2) As far as I'm aware we can still do that. However I can't be bothered to. The ones that moan, should do something about it themselves if they really feel the need to. Perhaps no one celebrates it, because they are not bothered, because it isn't important. 3) Thanks for that info. St. George (some say) was not actually English himself though.)

St George was a Coventrian.
Although I'm not Irish I had a good time down the 4P's last night which was even more packed than it was on New Years Eve. Even though we don't make such a big fuss about St George's Day as the Irish do St Patrick's Day I don't feel its because we're any less patriotic. We celebrate being proud to be in English in different ways. If you don't believe that go down The Rocket Pub on June 15th (or whenever England's first World Cup game is)
