Honestly, i did have a doubt when i was posting that, i suppose i should always check my facts before posting like some 'pleb'. btw, is pleb still an official word, or is it just used by Chavs?

I thought the word pleb was first made up by Alfie Moon on Eastenders. No worries bout getting your facts wrong as it gets your post count up and it gets mine up too when I correct you

I can see Southampton getting something against Man Utd as I have a feeling Fergie might want to do his old mate Jim Smith a favour just like in 2001 when Derby beat them. Wouldn't have made any difference in 2001 thanks to a come back from 2-0 down at Villa Park to send the Sky Blues down ;D ;D.... ahh happy days ;D

Yeah but the City players would have known what the score was in the other game. Just a shame Alex Ferguson couldn't have helped out his old mate Gordon Strachan a couple of weeks earlia in the same way he helped out Jim Smith.

Would like to see Derby win through from the play offs to get back to the top flight. Be good if George Burley makes it back at the expense of Ipswich

I like the way Derby are playing at the moment so yeah, i wouldn't mind seeing them getting promoted....just as long as Southampton go down, i hate it when all 3 promoted teams go straight back down, we need a bit of variety.

I know what you mean the league needs teams to stay up. Have hopes for Sunderland getting enough home points and Wigan having money for them to stay up next year.
It will be strange to see the Saints out of the top flight after being there for so long

I can imagine Sunderland finnishing higher than Newcastle next season. Imagine that the 2nd most supported club in the country in terms of attendances and only the third best club in the North East. I'v seen the way Wigan are run first hand. There chairman runs them like a proper business, they did 200 programs for away fans per game this season because he didn't want any left over. He will find things a bit different when the big clubs go there.
Anyway I stand by what I said last week. I don't care who stays up today providing the Yams Yams come down.

Thinking about the tension in this years drop race has made me think there should me more relegated/promoted each year to; a) Involve more teams right to the end of the season b) Freshen up the Premiership from some of the deadwood that do just enough to survive each year (Birmingham for instance) but don't actually offer anything have more interesting seasons I would start at 4 up 4 down and increase it to 5 after a couple of years.

I don't really agree with the 5 up 5 down thing because that would mean a quarter of the Premiership would change. Plus it would make it a lot easier to get into the Premiership and that shouldn't be the case, getting to the Premiership should be a great achievement because of how hard it is. And all this is coming from a City whose team could benefit from 5 going up. Maybe they should increase the Premiership back to 22 teams though so for one season only 4 teams win promotion and 2 get relegated.

I say we should merge all the leagues and create one big league where everyone is happy.........oh wait wrong sport!!
No, keep it how it is because it's fine for the moment. Well, until the moment when the gap between Premiership and Division 1 becomes to big then we'll have to have some other form of relegation/promotion thing.
Also, not a lot of people saw WBA staying up did they?? How the hell did they manage that!?!

Well they did have both sets of fans behind them.
I must say that I really feel for the Southampton fans seeing their team get relegated after 27 years in the top flight. I can tell you they will be hurting tonight and for a very long time to come. Thats football though.

Pleased that Norwich went down in style- 6-0 ;D Glad the Albion stayed up as nobody gave them a prayer of doing it. Southampton will feel the weight of all those years of struggle upon them now they have finally gone down. Long stayers now are, Everton- Pre War Arsenal- Pre War Liverpool- 1950s Man Utd- 1974 Tottenham- 1978 Villa- 1988 Chelsea- 1989 I think the above is correct. Therefore only 5 to go
