I so hope Palace stay up! But i have a feeling they won't. Yeovil just won league 2 (yay) so it would just be my luck that Palace ruin my fun and get relegated

I think (hope) that Southampton will go down along with WBA and Palace. Norwich should be able to avoid the drop as long as they play like that have been doing recently. Also, we should have another fun "Derby" game in the Premiership next season - Canaries v's Tractor Boys!! As long as Ipswich get promoted that is, but i can't see them not beating Brighton later.

I thought this thread was going to be about the Championship relegation battle that concluded today. Obviously I wanted Crew to go down simply because I didn't want City to lose. Wasn't to be though and the not so mighty Gillingham FC head down to League 1.
As for the Premiership well I hope West Brom go down because I hate the Yam Yam c:*nts, I wouldn't mind seeing Southampton down either because they are starting to pick up the reputation Coventry once had of being the relegation bandits. Out of Norwich and Palace though I don't care. I think it will be Norwich who stay up though. At least that will mean Darren Huckerby won't be scoring at the Ricoh Arena next season.

I wanted Norwich to go down just beacaue I was born near there.
The Championship relegation spot was close. Bad luck PW with the Gills falling into League 1

Crystal palace down because they nearly didnt get their play off Place when Cov beat them in last game of season. Voted for West Brom but wonderin why now!!!! Would be nice to see them do the great escape especially since the fans have been getting behind them so much to stay up & everything. At least it'll be good last week with no rel;egation places decided yet!!!

What are the chances of Portsmouth taking it easy in their match against the Albion just to see Southampton face the drop after so many years in the top flight (27 in total)

The Saints have still got a long way to go to equal Coventry City's 34 years in the top flight

Get this for a twist though. Southamptons first season back in the top flight was 1978/79 which was the first year in the football league for Wigan Athletic....Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Yeah........How the bloody hell are Wigan in the Premier League, NO!!! lol ;D Yeah, it's always weird how things happen like this.........there are always a lot of coincidental things happen if you try and read between the lines!

The Championship relegation spot was close. Bad luck PW with the Gills falling into League 1 This is the first time I've been able to post rationally on that topic since Sunday. GOAL DIFFERENCE, people...effing goal difference...Because some incredibly pants, debt-ridden and quite frankly unimportant-unless-you're-satisfied-with-mediocrity Midlands team lost to Crewe. TO CREWE, FOR GOD'S SAKE! Why couldn't City have gone down instead? There's no justice... Oh, and I'd like Norwich to survive...

Incredibly pants, debt-ridden and unimportant. But still finnished above Gillingham ;D Seriously though Wheeler I don't know how City lost to Crew, we dominated the game and should have been 3 or 4 goals up by half-time. Just like the league game at Highfield Road earlia in the season. As for Crew they certainly didn't look like they were a team fighting for their lifes. They just had a lot of decisions go their way and took advantage of some sloppy defending by City. End Of The Day though "WE ARE STAYING UP!" and so are Crew.

More omens ahead of Sunday in addition to the Saints thing above Crystal Palace and West Brom have never survived a Premiership season. Norwich haven't won away in the Premiership since December 1994 (They face Fulham at Craven Cottage) Southampton are at home to Manchester United and their first match of the 78/79 season was home to the same team (Albeit at the Dell)

I can see Southampton getting something against Man Utd as I have a feeling Fergie might want to do his old mate Jim Smith a favour just like in 2001 when Derby beat them.
