I'm fired up for this one. A World Cup Qualifyer against one of the home nations. Although people will be expecting England to win by a large margin I have learn't from watching many England games against lesser sized nations in the past that it doesn't always work like that. Especially against one of the home nations who are guaranteed to be up for it. England will win though. 2-0 with Michael Owen and possibly Rooney getting on the scoresheet. I aint really looked at the squad but interesting to see that Heskey has been recalled. Another stunner like your one against Denmark if you get on please Emile.
On a side note, good to see so many people young and old wearing their England shirts in town today. There is nothing that unites this country more and gets people fired up like a big England international match.

I can see us winning by 2 goals in a go through the motions type of game as the team have important club games coming up. Also SVE should pick Lee Hendrie

Also SVE should pick Lee Hendrie Err no, he's only just dropped Alan Smith, we don't want another average striker with an Ego the size of the Nou Camp and a gob the size of the new Wembley.

Saturday afternoon Lee Hendrie should play because he has the aggression England need to spike up a game. too often the pampered players from the European elite care less for their country than they should. Hendrie is a player that epitomises pride for the shirt. Look at him after the game on Sunday....and he used to support the Bloos as well

My guess is 2-0 or 3-0 to England depending on how easy England take it after scoring the important goals.

Well done England, great result yesterday. Now I know people might say that Northern Ireland are a much smaller country so we should be hammering them but international football doesn't work like that anymore. Providing England won comfortably I wasn't going to complain and thats what we did. You could see England's class difference in the first half but Northern Ireland had came with a game plan and it was working for them as we were struggling to break them down. England's patience paid off though and the break through came in the second half from an inspirational Joe Cole. From there it was all good. Sven is a footballing genious who I now believe will lead us to glory in Germany next year. Good to see he has found the answer to our left sided problem. The last few years we have had Scholes, Gerrard and Heskey all play there and while they are all great players they aint comfortable out on the left. Joe Cole though is going to become an England legend though. I rated him highly when he was at West Ham although he was only a kid back then, he has struggled to break into the Chelsea team but now he has arrived. And he is only 24.

Apart from the 10 minute purple patch after half time England made heavy work of it. Much better will be required from the players if serious progress is to be made next year.
Anyone else think Gareth Barry should be recalled?
