I remember Marcus Hall as having no right foot and always looked awkward. Gemmill would be a good player for you given the predicament you are in. Not sure about Page as I don't know much about him. Warhorses are required not potential. I'm sure if the Gills avoid the drop PW will have great pleasure in gloating

After watching us play Wigan in midweek, i think we will avoid the drop and im even going to go as far as saying we will finish 16th. Marcus Hall looked absolutely awesome and i cannot believe the Coventry Evening Telegraph are so far up McSheffrey's @r5e, that they gave man of the match to him and not Marcus Hall. 2 great goals by Wigan but they dont look like a potential premiership side, if they go up, they'll be staraight back down. Hopefully Forest stay up because i get along well with their stewards and West Brom will be another good day out. Maybe Walsall can come back up too ?? Robert Page is a good signing and im sure once back from injury he'll do a top job for us. Trevor B, is quality, and when partnered with Stern John , they look good together. Ian Bennett cant be too bad, 3 goals conceded in 2 games , 2 of which most keeppers in the world wouldnt have saved so i reckon promotion is on next season.

Nice to read a positive opinion about City. I to was impressed with the battling performance against Wigan. I'm sure if we play like that every game from now until the end of the season relegation won't be an issue. However from experience I know that Coventry are the most inconsistant team around. So many times we have played well against a top side then gone and played awful against a team nearer the bottom. It happend all the time when we were in the Premiership. We would go to Old Trafford and give Man Utd a run for their money then get hammered by Derby County or someone like that at Highfield Road the following week. Marcus Hall was quality on Wednesday night. He played in three different positions but adapted very well. McSheffrey is playing well as well at the moment. I'm not the boys biggest fan and I hope nobody accuses me of jumping on the McSheffrey bandwagon but I do give credit where credits due.

Sorry for the double post but it was either that or starting a new thread about todays game.
Finnally the City team are playing with some pride and passion. Before todays game I would have been very dissapointed if somebody had told me that we would only pick up a point. However considering we played the whole second half with ten men and with Stephen Hughes (a midfielder) in goal 0-0 was a fantastic result. If we keep playing like we have in the last two games we will stay up no doubt about it. Just getting a 0-0 draw today considering the position we were in was brilliant but we could have easially snatched all three points. Even with ten men we were the better team and Gary McSheffrey missed a penalty. It was a forgivable miss because it was a good safe by the Stoke goalkeeper. Every single player in the City team either played well or battled hard, even Steve Staunton who wanted to go in goal when Bennett got sent off did his job at left back. Maybe when we've got Page fit and Marcus Hall back in the team City can win a few games. I certainly think that survival is on the cards this season and a top half finnish is very much achievable next season.

I just realised this morning that yesterday was City's first clean sheet in 11 games and we did it with a midfielder in goal. Shows you the difference between the team under Peter Reid's management and the team with Micky Adams in charge. Almost the same group of players with the exception of two or three signings but a compleatly different attitude in the camp. Reidy's team would have laid down and died when Bennett got sent off and would have probably lost 3 or 4-0. I don't think Reidy is the worst manager in the World but I think he had lost the dressing room at City and didn't have that extra bit of magic in him that Micky Adams appears to have.

Read in the Sunday papers that Leeds United were trying to drug Peter Reid when they played Cov to make his team play badly..........insert your own punchline ;D

Well when I started this thread three weeks ago I honestly thought City were doomed with us being just three points clear of the relegation zone and with a group of players that not only looked poor but also didn't look bothered. Now though two wins, a draw and a defeat later I think we should stay up based on the way we are playing. Its ironic though that despite City's recent good form, the good form of teams around City means we are closer to the relegation zone than ever. But its nice to see more teams getting dragged into the relegation battle. Especially Leicester ;D

The relegation battle down there in the Championship is hotting up with about 8 teams involved now. Along with Rotherham and maybe Forest I am tipping Cardiff to drop. Especially if they go into administration and suffer the mandatory 10 point deduction

I hope Cardiff City get relegated. I hate them and I would like to see all the Welsh teams get thrown out of the English League. The Big Two In Scotland aint allowed to play in the English League so why should the taffes be? No offence intended to any Cardiff Devils fans by the way

you're wrong rich. the two scottish teams were offered the chance to play in the English league, however when told that would only be allowed to join providing they started in division 1 (now the Championship) they refused so, it is their own faults that they still play in the Scottish league.

Well I reckon the majority of supporters of both the Old Firm teams would be happy to start from the fourth division of English football if it was the only way. What I am saying though is you can see the positives for both English clubs (especially smaller ones) and the Old Firm teams if they were to join the English League. But what exacly are the plus points of having Wrexham, Swansea and Cardiff playing in our league?
Speaking of Cardiff I hope City beat them at the weekend. I kind of wish I wasn't missing it as I am going to have my mind on this game all afternoon on Saturday. I'l be delighted if we win though.

Yeh Gretna used to play in the English League (well the English non league) and now that they have joined the Scotish League they are having a great time. Cardiff, Wrexham and Swansea should take a leaf out of thier book and go and improve the League Of Wales.
