For any X-Factor talk, no matter what it is, keep it all in here

Well I think....nah not gonna repeat it. I just wish Cowell would keep his ego in check for the next series or it will lose any impact it could have had. There were at least 3 in the final 9 and many that didn't get that far who will have longer careers than the winner purely because the record buying public differs greatly from the sort who vote on reality tv shows

Steve will have a long career. He wants it too much to let it splip away after a few months. Some of the final lot will get deals anyway. Tabby and G4 almost certainly will, and i'm sure some of the others will, but you can't say that their careers will last longer than Steve's.

Due to their age they will appeal to varied demographics for a longer period of time. I think Brookstein only really appeals to a niche market as opposed to a whole spectrum. He will be like a modern day version of Bernie Flint who was an equivalent talent show winner from years ago. He now appears as a support to Holiday Pier comedians

Why does he only appeal to a niche audience? Millions voted for him (granted some of those votes were the same person lots of times, but still gotta be millions if different ppl to) as well as the 75,000+ ppl who have bought his single this week and made it number 2 ;D
So he's a little older than most "pop stars" but he still has alot of appeal and has alot of fans.

But the fickle pop world is mainly geared at the younger set and as with 95% of manufactured reality "starts" the biteback kicks in. Indeed it has already started with Brookstein when he got roundly booed off stage at some Top Of The Pops thingy just 1 week after emerging victorious

He wasn't booed off stage, a few random ppl decided to boo, but none were actually heard, Steve didn't hear any.
I'm still not convinced that he only appeals to a niche audience either. I am 17 and like him, i know sevral 12,13 and 14 year olds that like him, ppl in their mid 20's that like him and 30+ year olds that like him (male and female too) That appears to be a mass audience

The tabloids reported that he was booed big time and threw a strop backstage. I can only go on what I read

Don't belive everything you read in the papers. He wasn't booed off. If you saw that performance of TOTP you would see that. It was live and no boos were heard. It was just a few G4 fans who didn't like him. By the way, were you there

Nah I weren't there. I have to fess up to only going to gigs by artists that I really like and would think I would get something more from their live performance than by just buying the album. There is one 35 year old that I would pay really good money to see but even I have to say that she is only just starting to appeal to the mainstream after over a dozen years as one of the industrys best kept secrets.
Also think that I do like or dislike artists with the same instant sharpness of ...gulp...Simon Cowell
