Just been to see them play against Sheffield United and i have to say how poor are they?? There is no way that any of those players are even 1st Division standard. All i have to say is that it's such a good job that i ain't a City fan, and that i don't have to go regularly.......£20 for that? i won't be going again, not anytime soon anyway!

It was a poor performance today. Sheffield Utd are probably one of the better sides in the Championship, certainly better than the likes of Watford, Crew and Stoke but there was know excuse for that performance. It was a real shame especially because of the high attendance. If they had played better some of them fans might have came back. The atomosphere was shocking as well. I can't remember the last time the opposition fans out sung us like that. The City fans who were chanting Reidy out were a disgrace. I can guarantee you that if he had £10million to spend we would be in the playoff positions minimum but he hasn't so he has to do his best with what he has got. Sacking him won't do any good in the long term, results might pick up in the short term because bringing in a new manager could bring a bit of a buzz to the place but in the long term the teams that do well are the teams that stick with their manager. Just look at Man Utd and Crew.
I just hope Coventry can gain some revenge over the Yorkshire lot tommorow when Blaze play the Sqeelers.

I too ventured out to watch this match as there was nothing else to do. As a neutral I didn't feel I got my moneys worth for £19. Coventry should have been 3 up at least by the time the Blades got their first goal. They missed a penalty that you wouldn't have accepted from a nine year old in the school playground. The kick was feeble. Not sure who got the goal but they tok it well. Number 24 (John- I think. Ex Bloonose) then had a good run and hit the post which was harder to score. After the Blades scored the equaliser from a poor bit of defending there was only one team in it. It looked like an own goal that won it shortly before the end of the fisrt half. The second period was one in which defensive quality was lacking as many misplaced clearances and passes went astray. The Blades fans were very vocal and had a good repertoire whereas the home fans seemed only to have one song where they sing about Tottenham, Chelsea & United (Yeah right  ) rather different from the respective hockey teams support. Didn't hear any chants of Reid out but can't help thinking he and the club are not right for each other anyway. At this rate the new Arena will be playing to two thirds empty every fortnight in League One. Any disenchanted Cov fans I have for you two words to brighten up your sporting interest. Watch Villa.- It's not that much more expensive and delivers a much higher quality product |

B2P steve.......i've already agreed with myself, that if the only options for a weekend are to watch City, Stay at home, or Watch Villa, i'd be participating in the latter, purely because in each of the 11 times in my life that i've seen Coventry City play they have been completely shocking. As you say, it is no way value for money, in fact i think it is a con, there are some premiership teams you could into for less, and they ACTUALLY PLAY GOOD FOOTBALL!! The sooner Coventry get relegated the better in my book, they really are a league 1 team.

Hurray finally someone agrees with me. Villa do play more attractive football and at least play to win. Not like the lot who look dead in the warm up. And at so much cost are ripping off the punters. I also got the program which seemed nothing more than propaganda for the board

The current Coventry City team may look like a League 1 side (although I havn't seen much League 1 football myself this season) but if they were to get relegated it would be a massive blow to Coventry as a city, especially with the new arena being ready for next season. As for todays game, I don't know what happend as I wasn't there but today when I looked at Ceefax 325 it must have been the first time I looked to see how many points above Forest we are before I looked to see how many behind the playoff we were.  . As much as I love City I think Rotherham on Saturday will be the last away game I'l be going to for a while because there doesn't seem to be much purpose as we aint going to make the playoff and I am prety confident we will manage to pick up enough points to avoid getting sucked into a relegation battle. However there is absolutly noway I will be heading up the A45 to Villa Park. I will probably just try and get to a few extra Blaze games. |

Steve, i ain't gonna lie to you, i hate the Villa almost as much as i dispise the Sky Blues........the only reason i'll be making that little bit more effort to travel is so i can watch something a bit better than that complete and utter crap at Highfield Road.
RichBlaze, i understand what you are saying about it being a shame for the new ground if you got relegated, but i personally don't see it being too much of a loss for the City of Coventry itself. Basically because of 2 reasons........1) most of the people in Coventry support other football teams, and 2) Why watch the Sky Blues, when you can just watch the most successful team in Coventry at the Skydome??

Yeovil, getting promoted, yeah right!! Actually, thinking about it, they could do......a vast majority of teams that come from the conference, do get promoted up to (2nd Division) League 1 quite often! |

not as far as Torquay have to travel to take on the footballing might that is Carlisle United!! (and vise versa, obviously)

That would be a heck of a travel for a football game. why i've never been to a game. To bloomin' far to travel. Would cost to much (although the actual tickets for the game are cheap) and take too long. So i am hoping Cov are relegated (or at least a team near here ;D ) |
