What a poor game of football to watch, England were shocking, took us about half and hour to settle and then we still didn't do anything, Robbinson's penalty save was outstanding although I'v known for ages that the Spanish can't take penaltys, also some of the tackles towards the end of the first half made me proud to be English. There wern't anymore positives for England though. Second half Spain gave us the run around, England hardly touched the ball. As for the Spanish well they outplayed us tonight but they didn't look nothing special, shame they are so much like their neighbours Portugal with all the diving and play acting. Also what was with all the monkey chants, I bet Roberto Carlos doesn't have to put up with all that during Real Madrid games.

Didn't watch this one (Thank God), but have heard that Rooney was a disgrace. Can anyone enlighten me?

Rooney's temprement got the better of him tonight, he made 1 bad tackle early on that he probably would have got booked for if it was a competitive game then he pushed there goalie and did get booked although the goalie made it look worse than it was by running and jumping into the crowd. He then went in hard on another 50-50 and was actually fouled himself but you could see he was getting wound-up and so could Sven as he substituted him with about two minutes to go till half-time for Alan Smith.

I read that when he was subbed he didn't shake Smiths hand and threw his black arm band (In memory of Hughes & Weller) straight to the ground. Is he related to the Belfast coach or what?

Think England were really dirty in the first half, when spain took them apart.Second half was prity even but a bit boring.Rooney was a disgrace and so was the Spanish fans that were making monkey noises.Glad to see Reyes give Neville and nice stud rake after neville tried to take him out.

I read today that the Spanish coach is blaming the English media for the actions of the Spanish fans! Can you believe it in a way, yes. basically because aragones lives in his own little fantasy world, and believes that everything that comes out of his mouth is gospel. i sincerely hope that FIFA have the balls to throw the book at Spain. Whats the betting that if it was us, we'd have already been excluded from the World Cup qualification tournament?

Saw pic in the Sunday papers of Madrids Raul & Fige proudly supporting the banner of the extreme right wing set up that was responsible for the disgraceful scenes last week. To put it into context imagine Owen or Beckham waving a BNP flag

Right wing groups in football clubs is a problem in Continental Europe.Lazio's far right following have a big say in who the club should and should'nt buy.Real also have a problem as do clubs like PSV and a lot of the eastern europeon teams.I was also told by an Italian friend that the team you support in cities such as Milan,Turin and Rome depend's on which political view's you hold.Bit like here in N.Ireland with the Celtic ,Rangers divide.

I can see the rebirth of the troubles from the 70s and 80s re-occurring but frighteningly on a much more organised set up this time around

Dwight York apparently recieved some stick on Sunday, whether that was racist abuse or whether it was just random abuse that a lot of players get when returning to a former club I don't know. I have been going to football matches for 10 years now and in that time racism has never been a problem in English football, but all the media attention the events in Spain has recieved and when people over here see that they have got away with it we could start to see/hear it on the terraces over here. Unfortunatly all it takes is a few racist tw@ts for others to join in because football fans (especially younger ones) are known for jumping on the bandwagon at times and being crowd followers even if they don't agree with what is being sang or chanted.

Too true.
It sounds like there were only about 5 at Blackburn but that can easily escalate and they end up with an unwanted reputaton like we have!!!
