Yassar Arafat lay on his death bed wearing a Newcastle United shirt, Spurs shorts and Rangers socks...
He wanted to be buried in the Gazza strip..!

There is an old saying that "One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter" Not sure who is right and wrong with the whole Jewish/Arabs thing in the middle East and wouldn't like to comment

the problem is though, they take their religion FAR too seriously.........to a point where they become fanatical, and that is where they think it'll please their God/s if they do something stupid (ie. Suicide Bombings etc). When people try to tell them that this is wrong, they become very defensive and make it sound as though people are against them having a religion and as a result become more aggressive towards people who don't share the same beliefs (the west). its basically a viscious circle, one that will (IMO) never go away.
Thats my view anyway. Personnally i don't believe in any type of God, so maybe i'm the wrong person to comment on this type of thing?

Yassar Arafat was loved by his people for the way he stood up to the terriost state that is Isreal.Isreal breaks U.N laws all the time and get away with it by having American backing.Yet any other country doing this would have sanctions placed against them. The people of the west bank and gaza have got a right to fight back at all Isreal has done to them.Just look at the way the Palastians have too live life in,compared to the jew's.Im against suicide bomers but when you see the way they are treated by the Isrealie Goverment you can begin to understand why they feel they have nothing to live for.Just look at the number of Palastienan Deaths compared to the number of Jewish deaths in this conflict then you will see how one sided this war is.

Wasn't there something about the forming of a Jewish state (Israel) just after WWII where the former state of Palestine was forced to give up the "holy" land which escalted the current situation which has in fact been boiling away for the last 60 years. Ironically it was the European holocaust of the jewish population that gave rise to the re-settlement of the jews near their motherland in the first place. Sadly if there were to be an end to the conflict signed by the politicians a great many of the population on both sides would be at a loss for what to do simply because they know nothing else having been brought up on irrational hatred
