Does anyone know how and the easiest way to burn movies to CD from your computer? I'm downloading a movie (mpg) and i'm wondering what i have to do once the file is downloaded to get it onto a CD to watch in a DVD player?
If anyone has any info, i'd appreciate it.
Thanks!

I know that you need a DVD-RW instead of a DVD-ROM. If you've got a DVD-RW then you should have got a program with it that once on your computer, makes it easy to burn it onto the disk. Not totally sure but you might be able to do it on Windows Media Player too. Hope this helps!

As far as i know you cannot burn films onto CDs and then play them back on a DVD player, you have to burn them onto DVD-R(+/-) or DVD-RW(+/-) using a DVD Writer.
You can copy the film file onto a blank CD and play it on another PC, but not so it will play on a DVD.
There may be a way around this, but even if there was there is no way you would get a whole film on one CD.

I have a DVD ROM and a Compact Disc Recordable ReWritable Drive.

You need a DVD Writer to do it, not a CD Writer.
And DVD Rom will just PLAY DVDs, not copy them.

You can pick up DVD Writers pretty cheap nowadays.
Especially if you try on eBay. But they are cheaper than they were anyway.

Yeah if you're going to get one your best bet is to just shop around for a bit, i've seen them for as little as £20 in some of the smaller computer shops.

What are the legalities on transferring from one medium to another on copyrighted stuff?
