Nightmares just thinking of this one as so much tosh (Particularly in recent years) has attained the once-coveted number 1 slot
Personally the two I absolutely detest more than anything when "wacky" DJ's play them are Cha Cha Dirge & Saturday Night. Thank god back in 1977 at least 4 other records kept Status Quo RAOTW off the summit of the music industry

Anything by Westlife. Boyzone or any other boy-band.
5 Colours in Her Hair by McFly - As if one preening, weirdly voiced, boys-with-guitars-they-can't-actually-play-beyond-two-chords bands wasn't enough...
Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On. I wish it wouldn't-the film's awful and the song is worse...

Sorry mate have to disagree with the last one. She has a very powerful vocal range (Not bad from someone from Canadia!) and the film is awesome. it counts as foreplay in my book at times!
Nuther terrible song, Seven Tears (Goombay Dance Band) 4 weeks at the top in 1982

I think the Frankee and Eamon songs were pure poopeh, I mean they're practically the same or something.

did they both get to no1? i liked eamon's one but then it got way overplayed. i liked the mr blobby one cuz i was just a little thing when it came out. though i was gutted it beat take that to number one, because i loved them at the time.
im not liking whiskey's constant digs at status quo either!

Frankees one actually knocked off her ex-boyfriends one at top spot. The main reason reason I hate RAOTW is not that it is technically a Steelers dance (Fair play to them) but when it comes on it makes our fans look like a bunch of old aunties or grannys at a family Christmas party!! Seriously non-cred Nuther sickly number 1 for a month in 1988- Glen Medeiros with Nothings gonna change my love for you. Pass the bucket time

Whats wrong with Status Quo? It's more to do with the bad holiday/christmas party dance that goes with it! Still not as bad as Cha Cha Dirge though yet another poor number 1 from 1994 Come On You Reds by Manchester United F.C. (Guess who they nicked the tune from) ;D ;D

On the subject of music why didn't anybody bother to tell me that Boyzone had split up. I aint at all bothered but somebody could have at least mentioned it to me. Also the worst song out at the moment is that song that starts of with "Guns don't kill people robbers do", what kind of an opening line is that?

It's "Guns Don't Kill People, Rappers Do" and it's a great song. Can't wait till all the fuss about GLC dies down though, everybody is jumping on their bandwagon. I liked em before people had heard of them!
genius!

Have to say I adore that song Chewing Gum by Annie but if it makes the top spot will surely be categorised as a naff 'un
Another poor effort from 1993 Culture Beat and Mr Vain That song followed you everywher on a night out holiday (Home and abroad) Arrgghhhh
