This might sound a daft question but how does te star rating get worked out on each posters profile? Not complaining as I have a three star rating, but what doth it mean?

It depends on how many posts you have posted.
0+ to be 1 star
50+ to be 2 star
100+ to be 3 star
250+ to be 4 star
and
500+ to be 5 star
